Golden Tiger and OTH

I'll start this thread at day 21 of this Golden Tiger. I only have two GT in budding right now. One is a female the other is a male. I have one other female vegging for cuts. She has plenty to make clones since she is about 5' tall. I just didn't have space until now. So she will get flowered during this thread after some clones root.

A little history about these three. First off I got a really bad bag of soil to germinate in. They were doomed from the start from what I was looking at. If you would have seen them they were almost dead. Not much more than a stick with a couple leaves. I was going to scrap the whole grow and buy more seed. But, instead I thought I would try and salvage them. Glad I did. They came roaring back after the transplant and never looked back.

I think I have all three phenos Dubi says is in this line. The female I will show first looks Thai dominant. The second female appears to be the Killer Malawi pheno. And the male looks like it is the fast flowering pheno.

On to the pics.

Oh the OTH is still in veg. I only popped a couple seeds. Only one made it though. The other one got stuck in the shell and I didn't do a very good job of extracting it. Basically off with its head. I was going to use the OTH mostly for a seed run. But I am about to start some more seeds of it in about a week. So when I start budding them I will post pics. I will also throw up a couple pics of the male GT I have.

Well Tocksick I think Dubi said the longer ones go 14 weeks. The one in the pics looks to be all of a 14 week strain. Although it looks like it will go longer. I am just judging that on previous grows of long flowering sativas I have grown before. I am in no rush. She has plenty of company with shorter flowering strains in the room. She is sitting right up against a bare bulb 600watter.

Right now she is in a 3 gallon pot. Probably in about 2 weeks I'll transplant her to a 5 gallon pot where she will finish up. Man, I love me some sativa bud.

I can hear the remaining OTH seeds saying "Sprout Me". I have some Nepalese beans I got as freebies that are suppose to be sativa. I can't get much info on them. So I was going to sprout those also to cross with the OTH. Lots of pollen chucking with the OTH. And yes the OTH will be a challenge indoors no doubt.

Day 28. Looks like she has grown 6-8 inches taller in a week. I transplanted her to a 7 gallon pot right after the photo shoot.

Thanks Skinny Leaf,

I'd recommend you to pop as many seeds as you can to get a better idea of the strain, both Oldtimer's haze and Golden Tiger are great sativas, a very nice haze mum pollinated by selected Golden Tiger male/s would produce an amazing sativa hybrid :)

Extra Golden Tiger and OTH are on their way. Props have to go out to you and your crew Dubi for making the genetics available to us. You guys just keep doing what your doing. I for one am a big fan of a good sativa high and ACE offers the best selection for my sativa needs.

Day 46. She got a little leaf curl going after I transplanted her. She also has grown about another 8" over the last two weeks. She is about 6' tall with the pot. As far as smells maybe some melon and cinnamon smell. Its not that well pronounced in the smell department right now.

Well I got kinda tired of the online weed forums there for a while. Didn't really think I would come back on but I kept hearing IC MAG calling my name. So let me add some more to this thread. I quit taking pics on day 67 of the Golden Tiger. I have harvested the original seed plant and a round of clones of her. The one OTH female I had is still budding. It has to be going on 16-17 weeks. I have her shoved over in the corner. From seed she is too unmanageable to grow indoors. I am going to try her from clone and see if that won't control her.

Some things I learned about GT while growing her. Grow from clone it will control her heighth. She likes to be fed. More of a balanced diet during early to mid flowering. then hammer down on bloom ferts in late bloom cycle. It will get you very high at day 70. At that point it doesn't have that sleepy come down. But at 14 weeks the high is as good as day 70 but the sleepy come down effect rears its head. After smoking it for awhile that sleepiness can be controlled. Like don't wake and bake with GT if you have a long day ahead of you. Smell is chocolate covered carrots. It has a sweeter taste to it than the smell. But, I can't really describe the taste very well. Maybe a melon flavor. Also, I was taking some meds that upset my stomach. I would take three bong hits of GT and then take my meds and no more upset stomach.

I have pics from day 67 and some dry bud shots of the GT I will put up. I will try to get some pics up of some finished plants when I grow it again.

As far as the OTH goes I doubt I will put pics up of the plant I have now. It is probably not representative of what potential the plant has. She is just a pollen recipient. I can tell you she is a low feeder. She doesn't mind being root bound to control her heighth. She will freak out if you give her too much nitrogen in bloom. She needs very little nitrogen in the bloom phase. Too much nitrogen makes her go into almost what looks like a reveg phase. I do believe the Haze would be best outdoors. I may do that this year. We usually have mild conditions in the late fall and early winter so she may finish here before a freeze hits.

Thanks for share it Skinny Leaf :)

And hope you still feel confortable around us to share your experiences.

The Golden Tiger you have just harvested is very malawi dominant, nice resinous expression, looks powerful. Wish you enjoy her.

Oldtimer's haze is not easy to grow correctly indoors and we mainly recommend her indoors for seed production, there are much better sativa hybrids to grow under lights, the pure haze is more a breeding tool.
