DWC Recirc system
Flower @ 44 days
Floranova Bloom @ 550 PPM because using purple maxx
Ph 5.3-6.2... But, I keep it near 5.7 and 5.8 as much as possible.
Generally zinc deficiencies also make leaves twist upside down toward the ends, showing in young leaves first then moving downward. I'd say Mg deficient. Adding two tsp of epsom salts/gal in your nutes can boost Mg. In conjunction use a very mild epsom salt foliar spray and keep the pH of the nute solution above 5.5 if possible.
I added Epsom salt. Foliar fed them as well @ 1/2 teaspoon a gallon, as well as adding a tad bit of epsom salt to my rez. Like 1/8 teaspoon a gallon. Maybe less.
Seems that it's not a mg deficiency. So i decided last night i would foliar feed some nutes @ 1/3 strength. Nada since last night. The leaves are still turning more goldish and crispy. Some are staying stagnant.
The heat on the leaves are not high. I'm doing the hand technique and it's "warm"... not hot at all. I was thinking light bleach, but i do not think light bleach dries them out and makes em all crispy.
This is in the sticky in the hydro section: (numbers are in ppms)
8ml per gallon fnBloom
n 124
p 108
k 180
Mg 62
You only need 100 ppm nitrogen in flower. 8ml gives you 124. 100/124 x 8 = 6.5 ml fn bloom per gallon you would use.
This would have plenty of phosphorus. It also has enough magnesium without adding extra. I don't suggest using purple maxx. Rez temp should be around 68 f. Ph around 5.8 to 6 would be ok.
See i thought it was a phosphorous deficiency, but Floranova has enough of that.
I stopped using Purple Maxx since this the day i posted this.
So i'm up to 850ppm. I had it @ 750ppm before using PMaxx. Figured I can now bump it up now.
Both my girls are acting like this, but the photo's are from just one. The most severe case. The more rigorous one just has tips and some edges. Which i initially thought was nute burn due to PM.
My rez temps are at 70-75. I think i'm good there.
You don't need extra magnesium with floranova. Dump the rez and install the rate I calculated for you. Who knows what the ppms will read on a meter. I showed you ppms for individual elements which is a more accurate way to do things. (Meter ppms and individual element ppms are totally different)
Well its been exactly 24 hours since i changed the rez, and situation the leaves that are effected are worse. Some I believe are beyond help.
I by the 6.5ml per gallon suggestion.
Which has given me a 1050 PPM reading.
I was expecting nute burn, but I haven't noticed.
Well, i'm clueless. I'm going to mist with just PH balanced RO water. See what happens.
Do you use water that is w/ a water softner?
Other thing is it appears to be a Ph problem. Instead of throwing more nutrients at it use more clean water. If not already try and keep your res at about 5.8-6.0 for the ph. If you are already pass the first 2 weeks from seed or rooted cut you don't need to foliar feed, actually it can be harmful.
My other opinion is that its more likely a potassium issue caused by salt build up.
A major mistake new to intermediate experienced growers is they tend to assume its a deficiency and throw more nutrients at the problem. When almost 90% of the time it is caused by Ph fluctuations or salt build up from fertilizers.
