Lou i've been there a couple times, buds were terrible not even worth smoking, black, seedy, stemy that all i have to say. Next time i go i will be sneaking something on. Other than that It's the best place on earth!

Only been there the once (2007), got plenty of offers for weed but nothing was even slightly worth smoking and believe me i looked everywhere lol Seem to remember being offered coke more than weed all in all i would say dont get anythin from over there, and its totally up to u if u take ur own...... Hope this helps u

I don,t know what the weed is like in the DR but the mosquitos and other small biting insects are very bad everywhere. Bring some insect repellant. Mallaria is still a problem in the D.R. Punta Cana is awesome. Lots of beautiful women.Have fun.

Punta Cana is just a golden cage for tourists. The all-inclusive resorts are 100% artificial.
Try Las Terrenas in the Samana Bay, you'll have a much better and authentic experience. :smile:
Can't say anything about weed though, as nobody even asked me if I wanted to score (I probably don't fit the profile). Oh well, they have great cigars and rum there...

I am of dominican descent and I can tell you, that is a cocaine country due to narcotics giving you practically life in prison. Very few actually smoke weed, and there aren't any official growers. What you can expect, if you're lucky and not inside a resort, is some decent smoke for pennies, literally.
Was there in 1998 for about half a year and damn what a beautiful time!

If you stay away the tourist areas and know some people living there, it's great.
The budquality is poor. And as mentioned in the posts above, it's all about cocaine! I could get it cheaper than weed!
Great rum, ah damn have to go back! So much good friends still live there.
I also was a few times in Haiti during my time in the Dom. Rep and that was perhaps the sadest things to see in my life! I've never seen so much poverty somewhere else!

I was just in Punta Cana.
When you walk on the beach, guys come and talk to you and try to bring you in their stores. If you ask, they will have some weed.
I was looking for some seeds, just for the fun of trying a wild plant, but when I saw the guy's stash, I felt it wasn't worth the risk to travel back with seeds.
What they showed me looked like rotten bud.
