I am moving to New Orleans. I will have a grow up and going as soon as I can. In the months that follow, what and how can a stranger score in N.O.
Thanks

Hey rk, yes that bitch is gone. I cannot believe her nerve. She was put in jail for 3 days (she had to wait for a court appearance) for hitting me. She was served a no contact order too. Well, her first day out of jail she took money from my checking account, highjacked my emails (that is why I am new randude now, I had to change all of that) and she called my work (Boeing) and told them I was going to prohibited web sites, like this one. I was released without pay pending an investigation. I feel I have to go to court against her now too, but if I am in New Orleans before that hearing I probably not go. I should have the Official word on New Orleans in about a week. I flew down to N.O. Sunday and Monday and knocked em dead at the interview. I am just waiting now to work out the financials of the job. This place that is hiring me is very slow. It will be a job that I worked on getting for 2 months. But it is a certainty that I am going though. And I do not know what I am going to do grow wise, but I will be growing for my own head only. Need to get there and check it all out before I start.
Thanks for the props

well right now the town is relatively dry. new harvest gets here around sept. oct. and post katrina the city just hasn't had as much weed as it used to.

permitting you are actually IN new orleans (alot of people SAY they are from new orleans for whatever reason, when they are up to 100 miles outside the city. its really frustrating, they'll say N.O. and you ask what neighborhood and they'll say Norco or something an hour away) you shouldn't have trouble finding bud. Alot of people smoke. there is trainwreck and pineapple going around right now. but mainly old humboldt and bad beasters.

If your from the outer new orleans area its pretty damn hard to find bud at all let alone decent bud.

hope your not moving from the humboldt hills or something because believe me new orleans is not what you would call a quality weed destination.

but police have... err. more than their hands full and they aren't exactly looking to bust small grow ops if you feel me. (don't worry you'll start ignoring the murder stats too after a couple of months; its mostly set trippin and is semi-out of sight)

I can't grow right now either but I'm still smokin decent. you should be okay.

and stay away from that grow store in metarie. its narc run they already busted one guy. welcome to new orleans homie.

There is a good grow shop near the by water that rocks, and can get you anything you need. I would recomend bringing some herb with you, because right now it is really dry last night my girlfriend got some decient organic for 80 fucking bucks for 3.5! I was so angry I went back to the guy and asked for a refund. There are shit tons of houses on the market just look for high ground. Get ready to gain some pounds the food down here is so fucking good.

Motaco, I am glad you showed up. Yeah, I am from the Seattle area. I didnt' think that NO would be the weed capital, but I was sure I would find some. I will not be living down town, I will be working very close to the Huey P Long Bridge, so I guess I am sort of in NO. Harahan I think. I plan on just living in a hotel for about a month or so until I find a place to live. Prices seem good there for that sort of thing. I have worked in NO before, I worked in Avondale and lived in Kenner. That was the Spring of 91 until Christmas, so I have a fairly good idea what it is like there, except I was not smoking at that time. So I am not too sure where I am going to live, but just close to town as I do not like to really spend a lot of time driving to work and back. BTW, I flew down for an interview on the 1st of July, I was really surprised as I didnt see any evidence of Katrina. They guys told me it was concentrated in the 9th ward or something. From TV it seemed the whole town was under water.
Thanks Guys and PM if you feel like it.

I moved from Seattle to NOLA several years ago and stayed 3 years. You are moving there in the absolute worst time of the year. August, my friend.....you gonna die. You know what they say in New Orleans; 'It's not the heat, it's the stupidity'. Really though the humidity in August is unreal. Also you can expect to see small cars floating down the street during some of the daily afternoon down pours (we're talking biblical proportions). Don't worry though, when the rain stops and the clouds clear the glorious sun will come out, feeling like it is about 3 miles from Earth, and immediately begin to STEAM all that water. Rest assured though, August will pass, the locals will return from their annual month long hiatus, sometime near Xmas the sticky heat/humidity will start to become tolerable.

For real though, I love NOLA, I miss many things about the place, sometime I might go back, but if so it will be in the first week of April, when everything is perfect. I can almost smell the Sweet Olive trees in bloom.

Check out Uptown, there is an old music store called Mushroom Records( or just The Mushroom??), right on Broadway not far from St. Charles Ave. This place is literally next to Tulane University and near Loyola. Good people used to own that place as a family business, they tend to hire cool people. That's not a hook-up, but it is a finger pointing at the moon.

"Hey, I bet you 20 bucks I can tell you where you got your shoes."

Be smart, be safe, don't be a tourist.

Wow Thanks Cornerstone. I have worked there before, the spring of 91 until Christmas of the same, and I was there around the first of July this year. So hot at 10:00 pm that I had to wait inside the airport for my ride. I like your joke about the stupidity. I got a really great gig down there though, I am single now and looking forward to a change in scenery. Red, thanks to you too.

I don't know my neighborhood isn't lookin to good. but yeah the worst of it was 9th ward.

I know the area you're talking about but I haven't been there post katrina. I don't know what the weed is like around there. but I doubt it'll be too hard thats still N.O.

and yeah the heat is here with it. sauna streets. heavy thunderstorms with the sun somehow managing to stay out; shining bright and hot during the rain. all the classics.

Yeah Bro, I'm sure you'll have a good time. All that humidity keeps the Louisiana Girls' skin smooth like buttermilk. Lots of beautiful women, just don't lurch at the first one. :smoke:

whats up im from the new orleans area, recently moved out west after katrina wiped me out (see signature below). was just down there, nobody believes me that you can go to slydell and get drive through daquaries that are 151 and everclear TO GO!! lol.....since moving out west i sincerely miss pat obriens. just sit in the courtyard and get drunk off hurricanes and eat something from the millions of random places along decatur. if your looking to "score" good luck to ya, its pretty sketchy down there unless you find the right people (look for some hippies lol). best thing to do is find a chill bar and just go in there smelling like funk. right across from pat o's is this head shop, if ya need a quick replacement pipe. theres a grow shop down there as well but i remember them not having much selection and high price (but where else to go eh?) i will say, DO NOT SMOKE IN THE STREETS!!! been there done that
and i love nothing better than being in a mass of people with a fat joint rolled perfectly like a cig and people turning their heads, but omg will the cops literally bust your ass( go youtube it if you dont believe me lol).

my advice for living in new orleans, youll need the 3 essentials. 1) lots of air conditioning its frigging hot and muggy 2) get some seeds or some clones from some buddies, itll be better than what you buy down there trust me its either schwag or poor beasters. 3) get ready to re-learn to drive, youll see soon enough muahahahahahaha

YOU MIGHT LIVE IN LOUISIANA IF:

1. Your sunglasses fog up when you step outside.

2. You save newspapers, not for recycling but for table cloths at crawfish boils.

3. Your ancestors are buried above ground.

4. You get on a green streetcar to go to the park, and a red one to go to the French Quarter.

5. You take a bite of five-alarm chili, and reach for the Tabasco.

6. Every once in a while, you have waterfront property.

7. You sit down to eat boiled crawfish and your host says, "Don't eat the dead ones", and you know what he means.

8. You don't learn until high school that Mardi Gras is not a national holiday.

9. You push little old ladies out of the way to catch Mardi Gras beads.

10. Little old ladies push you out of the way to catch Mardi Gras beads.

11. Your last name is not pronounced the way it's spelled.

12. No matter where else you go in the world, your ALWAYS dissapointed in the food. :(

13. You know that Tchoupitoulas is a street and not a disease.

14. Your grandparents are called "Maw-maw" and "Paw-paw".

15. Your Santa Claus rides an alligator and your favorite Saint is a football player.

16. You cringe everytime you hear an actor with a southern or cajun accent in a "New Orleans-based" movie or TV show.

17. You have to reset your clocks after every thunderstorm.

18. Your walking in the French Quarter with a plastic cup of beer. When it starts to rain, you cover your beer instead of your head.

newRandude- Congrats on the new job. Having grown up on the outskirts of New Orleans (Northshore). I can only re-iterate what Sneaky said. Make sure that your A/C in the vehicle works very well. Your gonna need it until X-mas and then you'll start using it again around the beginning of March.

Like has been said.....bring seeds or cuttings to get started with.

There's good weed to be had, but mostly it's just the schwag (Brown Frown) and shitty beasters..... Unless of course, you know a grower. :muahaha:

Get yourself down here so we can "pass a good time!"
