It sounds like a Glass blowing Competition 
but I'm talking about the Surfing Pipe Masters

They have to have waves for the Comp ... so all eyes turn to Buoy 51101

The waiting period starts on the 8th.
First day is the trialists, local guys who are often better at surfing Pipe than the pro's.
The prize money is getting serious and most of the guys surfing are extremely hungry to win.
I usually work and listen in the background because for a few hours it can be very boring.
Then some competitor will do something like, "I can't believe he did that" and it gets more interesting.
