Glossy Leaves??

Anyone know what this might be? Their about 3 weeks old and still have not gotten any nutes yet. I'm deficient in all NPK. There in straight peatmoss with nothing else. temps are b/w 80-85F and humidity is around 40%. Both new and old growth are glossy,curled up abit, yellowing, and dieing from the bottem up. They'll be getting nutes and a transplant next week along with new soil, and ammendments. Any idea why my leaves are glossy? ooh yeah, i only have 1 23watt Cfl@2700K for now but tomarrow they get another 23watt Cfl@2700K and a 100watt MV which is 3700K. would this give me a good veg spectrum? thanks Arab2

Need pictures to give you any real advice.......and I assume you meant 100 watt MH bulb ? How many plants do you have going ? That is not very much light. If you can get it really close to them, it will work, but those MH's get pretty damn hot.

Naw, its a 100watt Mercury Vapour, i know what a MH is. I have 3 girls in a pot right now starting Lst. When i transplant there going in a soil bed to spread out abit. Im only three weeks in veg so i dont need crazy light, but for flower there getting two 400watt hps.

mercury vapor is an awful spectrum for the plants, its mostly green, which the plants dont recognize as a spectrum to induce a photosynthetic response, its cheaper than mh and hps, but sucks for growing

They produce way to much heat and actually only give off a little bit of the light spectrum that MJ acutally uses. Hopes this helps man...

You'll be wasting a lot of time and energy unless you get your setup together first. My experience is that plants that do not get an optimum start with light, nutes,and ventilation have a very hard time catching up and with the time involved ya might as wewll start over.
It was hard at first to cull the "less than" but now I only have time for the healthiest girls in my garden

Go out and get yourself a 4' flourescent light at home depot for $8. Panhandle out front for that shit if you need to.

Thanks for all your comments guys, but i have no more need for a light. I had to rip them out, else my girl was gonna call the cops. As much as id hate too, thinking about droppin this awsome plant for good. You know, Get called a Worthless Pothead all the time and it tends to sink in. All im good for is holdin a joint. Damn, Put up with Abuse,Slander,Shame,Being called worthless for three years, and The only thing that Kept me from Smashing her to a pulp is this plant. The only thing that Helps me keep my cool, but hey, fuck it, we all get screwed in the end. Have fun and be safe, Peace for now
