i saw a news story on youtube reguarding people shipping over weed cut with glass and other additives, i beileve it was in england, i cannot beileve people are doing this now, its getting too rediculous, this bud was scratching cd's for christ sake, has anyone on here heard a similar story??...makes me happy that this seasons right around the corner...

It's true, this shit was/is rife in the UK. If it's not glass it's some sort of silica or sugary type substance, looks like crystals but to a trained eye and nose you can tell straight away.
At first it was really gritty and sandy now it's more sticky a glue like, with a few glass shards thrown in to make it look appealing.
it won't have much of if any smell when broken up and the smoke is false no resin burn just the adulterants giving your lungs and throat a good bashing. i was unfortunate enough to get some the other day and it wnet straight in the bin. the bad thing is some people are probably too stupid to know or care their shit's laced unitl this happens and people stop buying it it won't go away. the scummy police havwe played their part with their all out campaign to break into homes and steal good crop so dealers are forced to bulk it up to kepp up with supply. can't wait to go amsterdam again.

Yes, yes it would be.

I think it was a month or two ago they released a public health warning regarding this stuff, the French had been monitoring it for months and issued their own warnings and its been reported all over Europe.

It is said its all coming from Holland, but that could just be bullshit - no country likes to admit the possibility of this sort of adulteration happening on their own soil. One thing that is for certain though is someone managed to _flood_ the market with this stuff and took the opportunity in the UK to flood the market during a time just after thousands of nationwide grow-op busts, almost as if they were ready in waiting.

The government have been assholes in a way over the whole situation, playing up the whole "well it's illegal, you shouldn't be buying it anyway" card over responsible information provision but like I said, the warnings went out and the story received some pretty good exposure.

its a possibility its happening. Probably more of a scare tactic. Save your self anyway and buy domestic, from the growers.

Well really it could have just come about from all of a sudden dealers being unable to find the usual domestic british weed and having to look further afield, possibly to continental europe and stumbling across this stuff that has been plaguing various countries for months.

I'm really not sure, there could have definately been some fishy tactics though, i'm not sure how long the police had been monitoring their suspected growers prior to the huge bust operation but you're right - there was a lot to gain from narcing, especially if you have a lot of tainted european weed on hand to fill the void.

I know a big supplier who sanded his weed a few times and admitted it so although it is possible the government adulterates weed some people in the biz are doing it 2. The sand fad seems to be over in my area. These days it's sugar, pepper and salt.

Situation seems to have resolved itself, the domestic growers are back in action although probably to a lesser extent than before and i'm seeing less reports of the glass weed.

People didn't know what the adulterant was to begin with, it wasnt immediately clear and to the average idiot who doesn't really know what to look for it looked like pot and smelled like pot, must be pot.

It never managed to work its way up to my city, but i'm about as far north in the UK as you'd ever want to go. Either that or I just never came across it, if nobody was buying the stuff then it'd dissapear pretty quickly.

yeah theres a couple types Brix is one I think. Its a sugar based product you feed or spray on the buds. Gives them a crystallized look and adds weight which is the real key to it. Can add 25% when spraying. Dont use as I dont sell but seen it on the self at the local grow shop

Its interesting that its called Brix because wiki states: Degrees Brix (symbol °Bx) is a measurement of the mass ratio of dissolved sucrose to water in a liquid.

I've heard of glass type fibre stuff they can spray on as well. I think its an industrial abrasive of some sort.

Come on guys, why the hell would the gov do something stupid like that? Its NOT the government, its some wankers tryin to make the weed look better than it actually is.
Try to make it look more sugary and crystally to the average less informative weed smoker that basicly knows hardly anything on weed.

I think its calmed down now,well...thats what i read, and i havent bought any since
ive grown my own so im not too sure, but this has to be stopped.
