Given the go ahead for a trip to Colorado!

So in planning for next years grow I was given the go ahead by the wife to head to CO and get some awesome seeds..... You see I'm not from a legal state.
Now I may have shot myself in the foot.
But I'm looking for some folks from CO to give me some insight.

I said hell yeah! Jumping at the chance to go buy some legal weed again (I've been to WA a couple of times for other business) and to find some seeds and strains that aren't going to be around here.
But being the business minded person I am, Im not sure that the rarer strains would be worth the time and money.
In legal states I understand there is a need for many strains and flavors and smokes. But I believe for the most part in non legal states its mostly about a couple different strains and getting what you can get as long as its good shit, which I can provide.

If I was gonna go its gonna cost me at least $500 and I plan on buying a lot of seeds because I don't want to make an unnecessary trip again. so I'm looking at total it costing me $1500-$2000 seeds and all.
So for now I have decided not to go.

If theres anyone thats familiar with seeds in and around Denver area and can maybe give me some insight to the price etc. :tiphat:

What you guys/gals think? Should I go? Would it be worth it?

Why not...lots to do besides seed shopping. Have fun!

Oh I believe it but if I went I'd only be there for no more than 24 hrs.
Just trying to see if the strains out there are worth the money for me to travel and buy.
And just if anyone else thinks as I do that it wouldn't be worth it because I can get good seeds online.

24 hours in my opinion would not be worth it... unless you some how have it planned minute by minute. However I believe you will miss SO much. But hey, YOU are the one taking the trip so in the end it's up to you :)

I agree but with work and family duties I wouldn't be able to stay long.
This would be purely a business trip.
I've already been looking around online at places to buy seeds. I would rent a car from the airport and go straight to the places of my liking. And by some stuff cause I'm going to have at least one night there. And it'll be a high one.

Seed selection online >>>>> the seed selection in CO.

I bet thats why I'm looking at going.
Its just hard to say if it would be something that ppl would look for in an unrefined state thats illegal. Meaning I think most ppl know the basic stuff OG, Kush, Diesel etc and they are happy with that.
Would I be able to really attract ppl just because I have a different strain that couldn't be found elsewhere around here......
Would it be worth the $1500-$2500 that I'd spend total to go and on product?

Can you pay cash without dipping into your emergency savings? Then go.

If you don't have any emergency savings and are planning on putting it on the credit card, then hell no don't go.

^^^SOLID ADVICE RIGHT THERE^^^

Don't waste your time...

You'll be severely dissapointed.

You'd be better off planning a trip to one of the various CUP events where you can meet seed makers in person.

Not credit or emergency funds, it'd be extra cash that could be used for such an investment.

Yeah I like that Idea, getting some things that would look different than anything else around here.

I'm still on the fence honestly. I think it would all really be based on how good of a year I have come fall.

I'd echo what crytop said. A lot of choices available online, go to Co if you want to visit or have a specific strain you can't get online. Be cheaper/ more choices online.

The storefront purchase experience is a novelty, have to decide for yourself how much it's worth to you

Thats pretty much what I was thinking, I could essentially get just as much online as a trip to CO. I've been to WA a few times and bought all kinds of stuff. So while the novelty hasn't worn off, its still not a reason to go just to buy from a dispensary.

I've been using Choice seed bank and have had great success with them. I'll prob stay with them.

Concur that online will get you a better selection. Lots of seeds are produced in the state but it's done in a gray market manner and they are not available at retail outlets.

That said rare dankness and 14er in boulder have some real nice stuff available in their retail shops. I believe the clinic also has seeds available, have not grown them and not a big fan of the chain so can't really comment/recommend them. Rare dankness would definitely be worth hitting up for the ghost train haze, scotts og...really haven't seen anything bad from them. 14er sometimes is out of stock so best to call first, but I have been pretty happy with what I have grown of theirs.

Alright so I think I made my final decision.
Since the only reason I was thinking of going was for business reasons then I have to say that going wouldn't be fiscally sound. Seeing that I can purchase great seeds online and make just as much $$ with those, especially around where I'm at.
I appreciate the input but I'm going to say my trip to CO for a family vacation. And actually enjoy my time out there.
