GH maxibloom in soil?

I've got some maxibloom and it seems any amount of this that I mix turns all my entire plant yellow/droopy until I do a significant flush.

I'm down to about .5 gram in a gallon of water and my plants still don't like it. After nutes water was ph'd to about 6.5-6.7

Are you in Soil or Promix? To me that PH seems a bit high. Right now Im using Promix(Peat based substrate) and I shoot for a PH range of 5.8-6.0
With the Maxibloom as a stand alone nutrient(Lucas) you usually start seedlings a 1/4-1/2 strength dose and they should do well.

Could be that maybe you are over watering? How much light are you using? Light plays a huge role in how much nutrients a plant can and will absorb.

Cheers!

Your combining Organics and Synthetics.
If I had to guess I would say that the Maxibloom is interacting with something present in the organic mix and causing some kind of lock-out.
If I was using a soil mix like that I wouldn't be using the MB, not that it cant be done but I would try using something like a Earth Worm Castings tea, with a bit of molasses for seedlings.

Sorry I'm not much help, hopefully somebody with more experience will see this and stop by to give you some better insight.

Best of luck!

It isnt just the organic vs synth discussion, UP your maxibloom to at least 5.5g per gallon and watch your plants come to life again but hurry!

Your currently starving them and killing the beneficial bacteria while probably flushing out the available nutes with weak solution, take my advice hit them with at least 5.5grams of maxi.

What ph would you suggest using?

I wouldnt hit them with any salt until you know what the EC of your medium is.

Yellow and droopy sounds like salt stress to me...

Can you do a slurry test for EC on your soil?

If your soil EC is over 1 already,,, 5.5 grams of maxi will kill your shit.

I just got a bag of Dr Earth pot of gold not too long ago that was maxed out on my ppm meter, killed all my shit.

unfortunately I don't have any way of testing EC right now, once thoroughly flushed my plants do green up again eventually.

I'll probably never use the dr earth again as I feel like it's been nothing but trouble, but its also my first grow so the problems may go hand in hand. Every time I've used it, even in random house plants I had a new crop of fungus gnats to deal with though. Mosquito bits take care of them thankfully.

Anything I can do other than test EC? I've been giving them nothing but rain water otherwise.

Maybe I need to give better info. My plants have been in the dr. earth from seed. At maybe 3 weeks I gave them something like 2 grams/gal of maxibloom and before they were ready for another watering the entire plant turned lime green from top to bottom and stayed that way until I flushed with ph'd water. Gave them some more time and they eventually recovered and started growing pretty well. Once the growth slowed again (something like 6-8 weeks old now) I thought maybe they were just too young before so I tried an even smaller dose at half a gram/gallon of water ph'd. Again before they were dry one plant (LSD) was mostly lime green with a few older leaves at the very bottom staying darker green. The Cookies plant took it a little better with only a little yellow/green in the newest top leaves.

Both plants have pretty dark red/purple stems everywhere and always have.

Years ago when I tried dr. earth I found it to be very inconsistent, and sometimes hot... was not impressed.

Just stick with the MaxiBloom throughout and you'll be fine. Maybe start slow and work your way up once the plants are older.

In a way maxi can be good to get started even without meters (get them asap) because so much data is available.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191645

Read thru that and youll get a good feel as to where your at.

my opinion 7g is too much at first so start them lower but go look at that thread tons of people with all mediums using maxibloom.

My plants turn bright green within 2 days of giving one feeding of 0.5 grams per gallon... Something is clearly off and I can't find any good info on using maxi in an organic soil even searching icmag through google.

I can't really wrap my head around what the problem might be though. Unless its like was mentioned earlier in the thread and the problem is killing off bacteria with a very low dose of maxi is starving the plant of both organic and synthetic ferts.. I don't know if it really works that way though

i have been using MB in organically amended soil for years with excellent results...but i use it only every 3 - 4 weeks and stop 2 weeks before harvest. one large scoop to 9 - 10 litres of water...no measuring EC or PH

good luck...
