GH Flora Nutes

Guest

Hello All. I will be using gh flora nutes but in a soil mix. Have any of you done this. Im just mainly wanting to know how much per gallon and how much the nutes affect the ph of the water. I will be oxegenating the mixturewith an airstone.

Because there is quite a bit of calcium and magnesium in the flora ferts, you should use as little dolomite lime as possible. Just enough to get your ph close enough to be within range or even a little under to start. Too much cal mag = potassium deficiency. Store bought soil may be overlimed for your situation. Consider brewing up a soilless mix on your own where you control the lime rate. See how to make a soilless mix in my signature below.

8ml GH Micro 16 ml GH Bloom, is my guru pH's baseline bloom formula (pH is a person) derived from the Mel Frank targets, which suggest a 100-100-200-60 goal for NPKMG values in bloom Both GH Flora series nutes and the Flora Nova series, achieve Mel Franks targets without additives.
pH's "Lucas Formula" values for 8ml micro, 16ml bloom
n 130
p 106
k 183
Mg 73

GH's baseline Flora Series, the 3 bottles, green purple and red, (different from Flora Nova series) veg formula
GH 15grow, 10micro, 5bloom
211 n
46 p
263 k
40 mg

You should start feeding your seedlings when true leaves fully form not the first cotyledons 1/3 strength veg formula (75n). 5 grow, 3.3 micro, 1.6 bloom. Once plants start getting some size (6" or so), you can increase the dose to 2/3 strength. (150n) This should be plenty. You can go full strength on large plants but watch for burning.

In flower, use the flower formula. You should not really need full strength. 100 n is plenty. 100/130 = 3/4 strength.

Adjusting the fert water after mixing is important for your success especially if little lime is used. After adding the ferts to the water, add an acid or base to get the ph to about 6. Things you might use to do this are in my signature "how to make your own ph up and down".

No need to add oxygen to the water. Just stir well.

Since the bloom formula contains alot of phosphorus, you may find it beneficial to give your soil a break every so often by using 13-0-44 potassium nitrate instead. Maybe every fourth fert or so. Phosphorus builds up in the soil and can lead to deficiencies of micronutrients. Potassium nitrate is the ingredient in some stump removers at hardware stores like lowes or home depot. Grants, dexol, and greenlight are some brands but there may be others. Just check the label. Use 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. (95 n 267 k)

Thanks sprout, that was my next question as well. However, yesterday I already mixed up a batch in one gallon of water @ 1/4 tsp. each. The plants are just now forming their second set of leaves. Will this do? (since I alredy have it mixed)

Thank You

Thanks Sprout co much obliged. The mix im using had ff ocean forest soil in it so i will not be using very many nutes anyways. I just got to try a sample grown with the flora series and it was some of the smootheset nicestest tasting hashplant i have ever had. I have done organics in the past , but i really want to look into this flora series. I will be growing some Sour D and M.Hshxafg. Ill get some pics up when im a little farther along so i can show you all how its going. :joint:
