GH CocoTek + liq. KoolBloom = MaxiBloom?

while comparing ratios of different fertilizers i noticed that if i combine my cocotek bloom nutes with liq. Koolbloom all in equal parts i get what looks to me exactly whats on the maxibloom label. Since thats pretty much how ive been using those nutes why wouldnt i just use maxibloom to flower? Its cheaper and it is only 1 part.

Chrono, Maxibloom works well, Maxigro in veg and Maxibloom in bloom phase works even better. Cocotek nutrients are a different animal. I'm running them right now and like how they're ph balanced with my tap water, very ph stable, clean and work well. Lots of good choices out there. Running Maxibloom veg through harvest isn't the best choice. Try running Cocotek without Maxibloom and see how things work. Keep it green...

Wow. Finally another CocoTek user. Ive only hear it mentioned once in a while here. Its good to hear some comparisons because i have nothing to compare it to as its all ive used.

What i meant to say in my post was that cocotek being a two part nutrient you have some control over NPK ratios which is nice come flower and you need more PK. I also was adding liq. KoolBloom as a PK booster because that was free also.

What i eventually realized was that CocoTek Bloom parts A, + B, + KoolBlom liq. Equal the MaxiaBloom formula. Nearly exact including approx. Ca and Mg amounts.

So. What do you think about that?

I also am using tap water with decent results. I was even able to get away with running DTW coco without any meters or ph adjustment using 320ppm well water @7ph for more than a month.

Interesting huh?

So what would the difference be for me in my situation do you think, running my cocotek + koolbloom mix vs. dry maxi?

If the numbers are almost identical shouldnt it be the same?

No meters

No meters

Just in case noone believes me.
These plants were at 5 weeks veg from clone, totally winging it with cocotek nutes. The only problem i had really was too much calcium because i was adding cal/mag before i knew any better.

Thought it was interesting they did so well so out of range ph wise.

Do you suppose the cocotek has something to do with this? You mentioned its buffereing and stability..

Chrono, Plenty of folks are using Cocotek nutrients, my local hydro shop has quite a few folks using it with other additives and bloom boosters. It's a good priced two part nutrient for coco.

The biggest differences between Maxi and Cocotek are that Cocotek has chelated micronutrients (increases absorption by plants), Maxibloom only has chelated iron, Cocotek is very pH stable, Maxi is not, and Cocotek is more soluble or cleaner with no dyes. I've run Maxigro and Maxibloom for a few cycles and like them but Cocotek is an overall better nutrient in my opinion.

Some folks run Maxibloom at 7 grams/gal, I think that amount is overkill for vegging plants, way too much phosphorous. This can lead to leggy plants. If you want to KISS, run Maxigro at 4-5 grams/gal in veg and Maxibloom during flower.

I'm currently in week 4 of flower and using Cocotek Bloom A&B @ 8 ml/gallon with 2ml/gal of Botanicare PBP Bloom (soil formula). In week 5 I will be adding 1 ml/gal of Hydroplex and dropping the base A&B by .5 ml, week 7, 7 ml's A&B and 2 ml's Hydroplex, Week 8-9 flush. Lots of ways to skin a cat!

Your well water @ 320 ppm is probably pretty high in calcium and magnesium so you may want to consider carbon filtering it to lower the ppm's. Peace.

OK! Thank you very much for your generous response, i really appreciate it. VERY helpful. Going to look at your recipe and see what youre doing there, it seems interesting. Im still getting basics down, hopefully my next grow goes a little more smoothly.
