Blue Haze talked me into coco over 5 yrs ago for my mom plants feedin my ebb and flow bucket flip rooms at the time.....
Needless to say once dialed it`s some awesome shit.....BH is around cuz I get pm`s from time to time , so....

Pure respect due for a veteran grower that gets it.....BH is da man....3 1/4 lb Reeferman hashplant # 38`s in krusty buckets proves that.....

......I've had good luck with 100% perlite hempy buckets and GH Lucas formula and I'm planning to stick with that, but I'm considering coco because I've heard such good things about it.
I am considering;
A) 100% coco in soil containers(drain holes in the bottom) feeding once a day.
B) hempy buckets with the bottom 2" res area filled with hydroton and the top 100% coco
C) the same as B but with the top a mix of hydroton and coco.(Chow mix)
D) the same as B but replacing hydroton with perlite.
E) the same as C but replacing hydroton with perlite.
Which do you think is best?

Thanks, I'm really considering going 100% coco in 3gal smartpots now. 6 under 600w in 4x4. Do you think that's the right size pot? or go 5gal? any experience with smart pots / air pots?
For seeds, even when doing 100% perlite hempys, I'd start them in a beer cup with 50% perlite 50% soil, because they needed the extra moisture while developing roots, and then I'd just cut the cups away and planted the whole soil/root lump in the 100% perlite and covered it with more perlite. Thinking I will do the same thing to start coco smartpots, but with a coco/soil mix in the beer cups? I'm also thinking about going from GH Lucas to Maxibloom KISS formula?

How about general organics with coco?
This is a really old thread Imedicate, but was using general organics in coco for a while. 5ml grow + 5ml bloom per gal. gives you a nute ratio very similar to h3ad's recipe. Worked very well for me in veg and flower. Check out the satori thread in my sig for pics of plants grown with that recipe. End product quality was excellent also.
