You mean their Flora?

Yes, and I know lots of others too and it works well.

Does anyone use Gen. Hydro. 3 Part nutrients for soil grows.

It's great. I used it for many years and I have friends that still use it and their herb is great as well.

These days I use the Floranova from GH. It's just one bottle to mix and shake. I love it for ease of use and the results are great. I recommend it for the slacker type who doesn't want to hassle with a lot. That's just me.

General Hydroponics 3part flora series nutes are like industry standard though. There are a ton of products now to choose from. I would experiment if you have the leisure.

If your going to use hydroponic ferts for a soil grow, use the least amount of dolomite lime as possible. Gh 3 part, floranova, etc... contain large amounts of calcium and magnesium.

Can those of you who use GH hydro in soil can you give us your fert schedule? I currently have the FloraMicro (5-0-1) and FloraBloom (0-5-4) as I was planning a "Lucas formula" hydro grow. Due to various reasons I'm sticking with soil but have these hydro nutes just sitting around. I'm about to run out of my supply of Pure Blend Pro "bloom" soil formula. My 4 ladies have been extremely happy with the PBP...there at week #6 at 12/12 and starting to beef up but I'm running low on bloom nutes and I'd love to use this GH stuff up and not let it go to waste.

Thanks, I am getting old and trying to make things easier. I'll have to give that Floranova a try one of these times.

Thanks for the tip BV. I am using regular Pro-Mix with extra perlite and vermiculite for the soil. I have never used lime but I understand Pro-Mix has some in it.

I had been using earthworm castings along with Espoma Flower-Tone, but it seems to be hit and miss, and I can't seem to get it dialed in.

I used the GH 3 part for hydro once and it worked great.

I use GH 3 prt in my soil/mix. I also lime. I have had to use a little calmag. Also since adding 1 to 2 tbs of lime,( last 3 grows) I have very little probs with ph.

EZB,,,are you using it at hydro strength? or do you use less being that it's going into soil and not a reservoir.

Is GH in soil at Lucas Formula strength for flower a good idea (8ml Micro and 16ml Bloom)?

I use the gh 3 part I start at 1/2 strength. After a couple weeks I go up to 3/4 strength. A couple weeks back I gave them full strength & got a little tip burn. I don't have much experience with the lucas formula.
I use this chart as a rough guide.

The Gh 3 part has worked well for me.

I switched from foxfarms grow, big, tiger, to GH flora seies and Ill never go back to foxfarm. Th growth was fuckin explosive!! I followed the ratio on the bottles but at 1/4 strength, then up to 1/2 'til the end. Straight tap water mixed with gh gives me perfect 6.5 ph every time. :joint:

Don't confuse ca and mg with buffers like dolo.
Cal mag is just that, ca and mg.
Dolo is ca carbonate and mg carbonate which is the buffer.

Adding cal mag to your solution won't keep the ph of floranova from dropping like a stone in ro water.

Adding dolo to promix will keep the rhizosphere's ph from dropping like a stone in promix and fn + ro.
Will it add to much ca and mg overall? Yes, but would you rather have to much ca and mg or water your plants with a pH 4.5 solution and have your rhizosphere run 4.5 also?

x10fast,
Go easy with the gh and you'll be very happy with the results.
Wanted to bump this and add that yesterday I addedd "sweet" to my ferts and still a perfect 6.5 ph, staight tap. I will NEVER use any other brand/kid of fertilizer again. GH is simple to use (pretty much idiot proof directions) and cheap :sasmokin:
