i have a 4 kw bloom room... Blue Hash and Blue Dream are my staple strains and i have some others that im testing out... the BD is 11 wks and the BH is supposed to be 8-9 but they aren't finishing like they used to. i use #2 black nursery pots with soilless/soil/perlite. pure blend pro feeds my plants every watering... the most ive gotten is a ounce a plant from the BD but there are usually 1 or 2 plants each time... i run perpetually and harvest a few plants each week... ive been trying to put in 20 plants at a time but my numbers are lacking... i feel like im back sliding in the grow dept. even though i get bigger and better equipment im not harvesting the fruits of my labor... ive been thinking of using 3 gal smart pots instead of the #2's... i don't know... just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips that might could help me reach more than a half lb a kw?

I agree veg longer. Perhaps combine topping with some LST and really work on getting an even canopy. Plants undergo a vegetative state in nature, so I think they'd be healthiest if they saw a veg in your room. I've always been one to think that the best produce will come if we mimic the natural environment/ecosystem. Do you have your temp/humidity controlled? Are you using tap water? Water temps? I'd start by getting a controlled environment so you can minimize variables..

As mentioned above environment is the foundation of growing, what is your setup like for Temps and humidity? Once you have that dialed in look at moving to coco coir or some type of hydro setup as soil or promise is not known for big yields . There's a bunch of great reading in the coco thread, I'd start with Coco Trees , DJM walks you through every step of growing the guy is a guru

I'll third the advice on vegging longer. And train those plants to be bushier, ie. topping, bending, breaking. I looked at your pictures and it looks like you grow a lot of single cola plants.

Flowering out bushes as opposed to single stalked plants will make your harvests MUCH heavier.

If you prefer to do single stalked plants, just do MORE of them.

I agree. with the above posters. I use 600wtts with 4 plants and get close to a pound.
the thing is I lst and supercrop along with a 6-7week veg after rooting cuttings.

if u want to save on down time, make a dedicated veg area so after the 2 months of flower you have monsters ready to take the place

thanks, I got the cut from a guy who brought it from cali.. im using soilless atm with added perlite. my veg is pretty short but I was doing 15-20 plants every week trying to get something coming in after mites hit me... now im trying to tweek things to make them better. I use t5's in veg and use tap water since it a remote location. it has power but I use a garden hose to fill up a 44 gal garbage can to for the grow. I fill it 3-4 times a week... the blue dream I have is sativa leaning and is tall and lanky... I have 3 oscillating fans at plant level and a 10 inch exhaust on the CF that dumps into veg. its all cooled by a 23,500 btu AC... I have cap greenhouse controllers in bloom and veg.. I am halfway set up for automation but my tables are being held against their will.. lol ...

After clones are hardened off you should move them under HID lights to bush them out . T5 just don't cut it

Ya I dunno bout that one... Ive done great with T8s not even t5s.
But they gotta be run right, done properly I think you can get just as good as hid maybe better??? Its argueable I think.
You just need the coverage right, I think 24-36 t8 bulbs give a much more even 4x4 light pattern than an hid, theres way more bulbs the light is Everywhere instead of just one source so they reach strait an grow evenly... thats been my experience at least.
Its all about how you apply the light. Hid is hard in a small space to deal with the heat
Ive since moved to hid because of size but I still love t5 or t8 fixtures especially for smaller applications where heat or headroom is an issue.

To add to this, I just harvested a plant that yielded 212 grams, that was vegged under t8's. 4, 4' t8 bulbs to be precise.

Also used to veg a gaggle of mothers under t8's. I had 5 of the 4', 4 bulb fixtures(the ones that the bulbs are right next to each other, maybe 1' wide) all screwed to boards to make a "single fixture"

To the above 2 posts- I completely agree that t5s have many great uses and people can do well with them. My only thing here is that the OP is asking about weight. Vegging under hid will grow the plants bigger in less time than flouros, faster veg time means sooner to the bloom room means more plants harvested per year so there's what he was looking for.

420stylz - it's always good to test things before you fully committ, so do half your next round of veg with HID and half with T5s, I am willing to bet you'll be happy

Hi 420Stylez, I think I remember you from GC maybe?

Anyway with PBP I water, feed, water, feed. Feed every other watering for best results. Also how old are your bulbs?

With your medium if you want better yields you also need to up your pot size significantly. 2 gal smarties are only gonna yield you so much no matter what else you do. I'd be using 5 gal pots at minimum. The bigger the better. 12+ gallon rubbermaids, or even make a raised bed out of wood. The bigger the pot, the bigger the pot.
