Getting a new apartment and need some ideas!

Well starting July or August I will be getting a new apartment and decided I'd like to grow again. For the last three years I have not been able to grow due to where I was living and roommates.

I still have my OG Mills Pride C-13 (5sq/ft) my 400w HPS and my 4" Eco Plus inline centrifugal (was letting a friend use it for a small return of 1oz./month to yours truly).

Well the new apartment will be about 576 sq/feet with one bedroom, living room, diningroom and of course kitchen and one bathroom. Here is the floor plan for said apartment.

My idea is to set up the C-13 in the walk-in closet and route the exhaust either to the bathroom storage closet or into the A/C room by the walk-in closet.I will have the A/C set to about 75F so that would be ambient temps.Hoping the temps in the C-13 won't go over 78-80F.

What do ya'll think?Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Try not to put it on a wall that separates you from your neighbor. They can hear the constant hum and the shuffling around every time you check your plants. If you're an obvious stoner they'll put two and two together. Careful with that.

Stay safe,
Mint.

the other thing (the main one being odor control) is i would prefer a place with the bathroom not through the bedroom. In the past i have had people over (no one knows) and i have to shut off lights, fans ect because inevitably once someone needs to use the bathroom they might stuble on the grow. the closet helps but it does get hot.

You know, those are the types of things you don't think of when your high and thinking about your new grow:wallbash:

I was thinking I could try bringing in fresh cool air from the bathroom (they always seem to be the coldest room in a place) and exhuast into the a/c room just before the walk in closet in the floorplan.

Well that's the only apartment I've found online in price range that actually shows the various floor plans,I could try the studio for a little cheaper I guess but I like a little space. The studio is only 439 sq/ft where the original apartment in the same complex is 576 sq/ft.

Floorplan for the studio:

Here is a floorplan for another 1/1 in the same area different complex:

I can't do that fatcat666....I cannot afford a 2 bedroom.I usually do not have company over, and the people that would come over (all 3 of them)are all very close friends, and likely would not know of the grow.

Shaunmulok: what floorplan do you like best?Actually I'd like to hear from everyone what they think is the best floorplan that I have posted so far.

I am still looking at other places like a few duplexes but not sure if I could actually afford them or not, that and they aren't in the best neighborhoods or best of condition. The apartments on the other hand are located in good neighborhoods, and are in good to great condition with C/H/A and updated kitchens bathrooms appliances etc.

Really the only security issue I think I might have is if the complex hires a company to do in-home pest control, that might cause a problem.Once I have the money needed to move ie; 1st,last,sec.,I'll be taking a walk through tour of each apartment and I will ask about any in-home pest control.

In the lease agreement I will make sure that there is atleast a 24-48 hour notice for anything (except for emergencies of course, there's no way around that).

I will be building another carbon scrubber/filter this time only oversized in hopes of creating a little less cfm loss/sp.I will be building said scrubber using SunIsShining's Pro DIY Carbon Filter Tutorial I saved from my days @ OG,so there should be no stinkies escaping.

I would sure check on the maintenance schedule of wherever I moved if I were you. I have lived in complexes before that came once a month to change out the AC filter and were always spraying for bugs or doing some upgrade to something. And they don't always give you a 24 hour warning either. If I were growing in an apartment I would go with something along the lines of the totally self contained setups they have here and camo the hell out of it >

Pricey but worth it in my opinion, but with what you have already you could probably put something simular together.

Check out this setup in an apartment:

You could do something similar if you have an utility room with a dryer exhaust outlet.

I would sure add a carbon filter to that setup. The smell would give you away in no time. But that is a good use of an existing vent except that, depending on where it exhausted, it would look like you were running your dryer all the time and that might attract attention by the managment.

Yea, carbon filter is on the way. This is my brothers room and he has a town home/loft...the exhaust leads directly out the roof of the apartment.

Ahh, they surely won't be noticing air exhausting from the roof and with it being there the air currents will naturally carry it away.

i would go with a larger place than you can "afford". with your new setup no matter how small, you will have enough $$ for an extra $200 or so on rent. i was in the same shoes you are in when i 1st started growing, and i am sure glad i got my house instead of "what i could afford".

apartment growing is the most dangerous option you have, but im sure you are aware of that. my best choice was renting a crappy mobile home instead of an aptartment when i moved out of my parents house. this place was a complete dump, but it had lots of room to grow!, and i only had to stay there a year untill i was on my feet & ready to get a proper house.

This isn't my first apartment grow.I started as a kid in my parents house to supply myself,my mom,and my dad. When I turned 18 I moved out on my own to a small apartment I had rented for 3 years and pulled about 15 harvests over the course of those 3 years.I have been in and grown in about 4 different quadplex/duplex/triplexes over the next 7 years to present. This would be first grow in a complex with multiple buildings. If I can get a 2nd floor end unit that would be best IMO.

I am still looking for duplexes and for a roommate to rent a 2 bedroom with only I'd rather live alone.
