ENSO-neutral conditions are in place, but a transition to El Niño is likely during the late spring or summer.
As a result, an El Niño Watch has been issued.​

In Illinois we usually get warmer and wetter winter. We are coming out of a mini drought.

Damnit now I have to try and remember what an el nino climate is like in my area. If I remember correctly it's wet, wet, wet. Annoying, especially after finally getting a proper dry Indian summer last year.

Yeah I liked that dry late summer/ fall for flowering! Was like a dream. Hope its not too wet. It always dries out here some point late summer.

El Nino? That is what they said before winter started in California. And, they've had the wettest winter in 40+ years!
