Hey bro.
FF is too "hot" for germ.
I lost 2 batches of seeds using it.
Try coco, peat, or any other medium that does not have ferts.
Some may say no problem , I am just giving you my experience.

I am sure there is no reason why nobody is answering your posts.
It's really busy here, just bump your unanswered post up.

I would advise not to germ in ocean forest becuase seedling s dont really need any food...i use foxfarm ocean forest and light warrior.. so what i usually do is mix the two soils together but keep a couple of quarts of the light warrior to germinate your seeds in.. or you could just use rapid rooters.. they work very well...

Scotts brand soil (reg) and some wormcastings and some perlite is a good call for youngn's. FoxFarm OceanForest though, is pretty good for plants that are just starting out. My clones love it.

Best approach is to use peat pellets to start the seedlings. My approach is to soak the seeds in distilled h20 for 24 hrs (sometimes they'll open that quickly), then set between wet paper towels, placed in baggy, set in atop warm area and CHECKED EVERY 12 hrs (because if not monitored they will grow quite long into the paper towels....no fun gingerly trying to separate the tap root that could easily be 1/2 inch or more long). Once started, pop into the the peat pellets, which works equally as well w/cuttings. Get some GLAD containers..perfect domes to contain the peat pellets. Once roots show through....NOW,IMO, you can place the pellets w/in 16oz plastic filled w/FoxFarm Ocean (w/perilite mixed in)...there, you're golden, for now. Throughout vegging you can use Ocean as is, once into flowering, I mixed a some bone meal to the bootm portion of the container (where the roots will reach by the middle of flowering) add more soil, then repot using BOG's step method. Throughout I feed w/ guano and big bloom.
So I said all that to say Foxfarm Ocean Forest is xcellent. Hope this helps.

Success w/ya grow.
Stay safe.

I use Ocean Forest - and I always add 50% pearlite. Workes OUTSTANDING.

Get theier Grow Big, BIg Bud, and Tiger Bloon also. That will get the basics down.

Oh and your going to need a good PH tester

^^i practically swear by foxfarms for a flower or veg mix:

9 gal of Oceanforest
7 oz of Whitney Farms Blood Meal
7 oz of Whitney Farms Bone Meal
10% perlite
1cup of wormcastings
1cup of budswel Bat Guano (flowering only)

Oceanforest is amazing.!!

How well do those starter cubes work, I have never tried those before, and was wondering?

ocean forest kicks ass but it can get expensive. I prefer to combine it with pro mix bx, it gives the pro mix that much needed loamy texture. Also of course extra wormcastings and perlite, and piece of mind steamed bone meal for the flowering mix. It works for me anyway.
Good Luck, oh yea try some mychorrizzea that stuff works great.

My only complaint with FF Ocean Forest is the price. I tried Coast of Maine soil for one grow and I was disappointed. The difference was dramatic.

for seeds I go with Oceans forest and 30-40% more perlite... When doing anything more I have recently moved to the Moonshine's Mix, or basically 3 bags of Fox Farm soil, 1 Oceans Forest, 1 Light Warrior, and 1 red bag Potting Soil.

It's pricy around here too, but my top shelf stash is easily over $400 an oz. One extra oz a bag would be good, but it's a few more than that.

I can't afford NOT to use it

Good point. Even in my 270 watt personal grows, I am getting 3 ounces (worth ~$1200) with about $30 in soil. Thats peanuts.
