Germinating and Starting seedlings confused!:(

im a newb to growing but me and a friend are given it a shot in summer 2011. We have popped some bagseed to test out some germinating techniques(we bought some seeds dont wana screw those up) and they worked but now were confused about how long to put the seedlings under flouros for a day. Do they get 24/0 or should we use a similar schedule to our light around here at 41N? I feel that if we did that it wouldnt encourage vegging but flowering. Please help! 2011 grow season is coming!

Stay safe!

24 hours of light for seedlings. you want them to have as much Photosynthesis to grow up as fast as possible so you can put them out this spring.
Seedlings take a while to establish, easily a month for 3-4 sets of leaves to sprout.

when you put them outside it will be all good.

If you want another seed germinating tech. this is my fav http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=10876 so idiot proff

Just make sure it's at least 18 hours of light. 24 is good as well but anything less than 18 and you'll risk flowering.

Ditto on the 18-24 hours. And just prior to moving out doors you may want to move them out for a few hours of actual sun each day, it may help limit stress on the plant.
