My Aunt has one that she grows edible flowers in. It is pretty cool looking and seems pretty effective. Are there any specific benefits to a conventional greenhouse?

Although geodesics can be as complicated as you like, the simple pentagram dome is a favorite.
We make them out of saplings, PVC pipe, trash picked metal conduit, or old broomsticks, and in every size from a three-foot- high dome to protect a pumpkin mound or potato patch to an eight-foot-high dome to cover a chicken yard, become a tent, or protect a haystack.
They are versatile, easily made and quickly built, and break down just as easily.

A badly designed or constructed dome will not perform any better than any other poorly constructed building, so do your homework and get professional help if you need it, a well designed and constructed dome will be cheap to run, environmentally sound, beautiful, super strong.

hi, folks!

here is a link to a dome calculator. i would recommend you look at steel electrical conduit for a greenhouse dome. it would last years.

I was just checking these out, a Colorado company makes them and they seem pretty slickly designed.... heres the link:

The hot water sink is one of the key features that makes this a year round growing solution, along with the great insulation. I envision someone setting up a slick growing system using the water tank as a fish tank and incorporating worms and making an aquaponic system. Or I have always dreamed of using the hot water reservoir in my greenhouse as the hot tub!
