OK let me preface this first.... I HATE club music, most djs, electronica sounds inhuman. I'm a jazz snob/nut... I have enough jazz on my ipod to keep you busy for years and I listen to it alot. That and Zappa... and reggae...

But I heard some 'mash-up' while trimming last year... this guy named Girl Talk... before then I though 'computers, by definition, can NOT make real music'... but I LOVE this music, its the best thing ive heard since In a Silent Way.

Give it a chance if only for this reason... some women go fucking crazy for this stuff. They will dance to some strange shit and get down to some music that I find completely repulsive... but Girl Talk takes it to a new place that is fun for all.

so... go out on a limb... there isnt much more else I can say. Check out 'smash your head' (it was actually mention during a congressional debate over copyright and how it applies to new music. he mashes Biggie's 'Juicy' with 'Tiny Dancer', as if it was supposed to be that way. Also, 'here's the thing' is good. You can download his entire latest album, for free, on his website.

Oh and if by chance he is coming to your town... the concerts are notoriously wild, more of a party, like Parliament/Funkadelic in the 70s

if you did house, rap, rock, metal, and the likes he mashes em into a symphony of supercharged music

you a stoner your gonna its gonna grab your brain and dance 3 dimensionaly in your head and get you moving .. great go with the flow while you smoke and work your grow

this type of music insight makes me think even F.Zappa would be impressed

Club music is the expression of trying to make up for lost brain cells. And chasing that first e-trip.

Girl Talk is playing the Fillmore in SF, OCT 27 and 28. I dont know what is going on but I can't find anywhere to buy tickets. You can purchase tickets for the shows after that.. some ticket sites dont even list those dates.
Either way, I will be there for both nights.

My favorite track right now is the one from Feed The Animals where me mashes Jay-Z with Radioheads 'Paranois Android'.

Zappa would definitely like Girl Talk.
hail zappa

yea see part of me died a little when i went to their myspace page and it was playing "Don't Stop" and there was a sample of Yves Deruyter - Born Slippy in there. See, I think that shit should not be mixed. I liek my trance to be trance, that annoying beat they play over it is fuckin retarded
that Born Slippy is otherwise a great fucking song

otherwise some of their other stuff is ok, but i jsut cant get over that other thing...listen to that song if you like trance, its deep
