Gene gun might be used for developing cannabis?

In genetic engineering, a gene gun or biolistic particle delivery system is a device used to deliver exogenous DNA (transgenes), RNA, or protein to cells. By coating particles of a heavy metal with a gene of interest and firing these micro-projectiles into cells using mechanical force, an integration of desired genetic information can be induced into cells. The technique involved with such micro-projectile delivery of DNA is often referred to as biolistics.

This device is able to transform almost any type of cell and is not limited to the transformation of the nucleus; it can also transform organelles, including plastids and mitochondria.

The bioengineering of cannabis
Genetic modification could enable industrial-scale production of cannabinoids that have pharmaceutical potential.

:good: Very interesting article/concept; I wonder about the carrier and the method of delivery (particles of a heavy metal) and whether or not it could have an effect on transgenerational epigenetic inheritance through either the trauma of delivery or toxicity of the heavy metal.

We'll be hearing a lot about this one, thanks!;)

i used to experiment with colchicine in the late 70's using thousands of Colombian Gold seeds seeing that there was 1lb of seeds per 4 ozs... at as 150 per quarter lb..

1000 seeds a handful of Polyploid females...lost them over the years.

Does this mean one shot and we can produce our own cannabinoids internally ourselves?
Kind of like the RNA vaccine making us produce dummy corona viruses.
