I noticed that a few people mentioned Urkle x DC hybrids.
That one is already in the works by at least one breeder that I know of.
So it should be poppin up soon.
I can't tell the difference between the 2. I kept the GDP because of quicker growing and yeild. I bred with the Urkle because it doesn't have those big bud genes in the mix.
I'll get some pics up soon, jus before transplant.. I also got all 3 of my extra clones in 1 pot and those will be shown for the rest of their grow aswell..
Yes, H&L is right, I'll be hittin' her with multiple PAKI males if I deem her worthy, at the same time i do the open pollination paki preservation project..
On the elites I've usualy done 1:1 crosses so if I see a super special looking/smelling male I may jus use a single source of pollen to keep variation down, and the chance of a not so special male in the mix with the PAKI program.. I dunno if it's the best route, but it's easier and more predictable for me to work the elites this way.. I may end up with 10+ PAKI males and I jus don't have the time or space to progeny test 10 dif males.. it'll all come out in the testing, and will fun to watch indeed..
Nice buds icysurfer - gotta love the purple buds. I would love to be able to stick my head in down in there and breath for a while. lol
I'm assuming that you dry in paper bags? It's my preferred method b/c they dry really slow without forming mold as long as you turn them daily an let them breath for a bit.
I hang em til the buds on the outside are dry, but the stems do not snap yet...
then off the stems, a new bag each morning, not closed until they are almost crispy, then in a jar, or turkey bag, then a paper bag, alternating each day, until it comes out of the jar nice and crispy.... Then I wait at least 2 weeks, if I can, preferably more, before I really start enjoying it...
behind on updates, jus didn't realize how much time has gone by..
Here's the 3 original plants plus my 3 in 1 planting..
I am seeing some differences between all 3, but all of the differences could be overcome by human intervention (pruning, training, topping, etc), or by simply screwing up yer nute system..
the biggest differences...
GDP vs Urkle comparo... GDP is growing her branches alot (or noticeably) closer to the main stem than Urkle.. Urkle has a wider profile slightly as her branches grow ouwards a bit more.. Also, it seems as tho GDP is slightly faster/taller growing.. but only by maybe 1-1.5" in over a month.. not a big difference.. u could easily pull the GDP branches out every couple days to get her to grow like Urkle tho, or tie her a bit..
then for the K's PK..
Definately slower than both of the others, but it's easily overcome by pruning lowers early, jus like I have done in the 3 in 1 planting.. when I originaly made that pot up, the K's PK was almost 1/2 the size of the Urk and GDP, but I've gotten her to catch up by gently pinchin' the others, and pruning lower, unusable branches away on the KPK earlier than normal.. the thinner leave's of the KPK that u see in early veg have all but gone, it's almost impossible to tell the leaves apart now.. the branches seem to be in between the GDP and Urk for how close they grow to the main..
transplanting them all tonight and flowering soon
Sorry I didn't take alot of pictures, or individuals.. I will right before flower, and I will show u all these differences visualy with pics..
My battery was also running out and res was set to low.. so next time i'll get some better ones..
Here's the whole shabang, the 3 seperate plants (K'sPK->Urkle->GDP) in the back row, and the 3in1 planting up front obviously.. the K'sPK is the closet plant in the 3in1, Urkle on the left, GDP on the right:
