Galaxy vs Phantom 1k ballasts, any opinions?

So I just had a 2 year old Lumatek selcta-watt shit the bed. I dont have time right now to deal with warranty issues so I need to buy a new ballast ASAP.

Im looking at 120/240 Galaxy "Grow Amp" multi watt ballasts and a Hydrofarm Phantom 120/240v.

Does anybody have any opinions on either of these?

I have been growing for years but have strictly used Lumatek, but after this one breaking so quickly I don't want to buy another lumatek.

Yeah Im leaning towards phantom, I don't like the idea of built in cooling fans, just another thing to break.

I've never personally known anyone that ran anything but lumatek, so this is all new to me.
Never really see galaxy talked about of forums either.

been using phantoms for over 2 years now and they work wonderful...have the same dimmable features as the lumateks. different kind of mounting hardware though its a little weird to understand at first.

how did your lumatek take a shit? ive had a dual bulb 1200 watt ballast for 3 or so years now....i heard not to mount them sideways because it will melt the resin inside or something...but i mounted them sideways anyways and havent had any problems yet.

Hey thanks, for stopping by with your opinion. I am pretty much sold with your endorsement.

I have no idea what happened to my lumatek, I haven't had the time to fully trouble shoot the ballast.
