So, being self employed in the building trade in small town america, I do occasional building repairs for some of the local rental property owners...
Recently I was on one such job, working in an occupied rent house, while the renter was at work...

Usually the landlord just gives me a key to a place, I go in and perform my job, and leave... I'm not the nosy type, and just do what I'm there for...
This time during the course of the work it was necessary to move some furniture, no big deal, happens alot... When I moved the chair infront of the closet/cabinet the door opened a bit, and seeing cardboard 'flange' sealing the space between the doors, and a bit of wiring inside, and a glimmer of chrome, My curiosity got the better of me... I opened the door revealing several evidences of attempted growing...

I say attempted because it was obvious there were several problems...
There was an incandecent 'plant light' bulb in the reflector...
There was a box of miracle grow...
Some fairly toxic mitecides...
A swimming pool ph kit...
An air pump...
No fans or vents...

No actual plants of any kind were present, but when I was moving furniture back, I noticed postal scales and an empty sack...

There are no houseplants in the apt. nor any landscaping plants outside...

The young couple looked like tokers...

Wish I could let them know about security and internet grow resources without exposing myself... hope they learn to be more careful...

I think i can one up you on a story that happened 2 days ago. I am in the process of moving my grow. I took mothers and clones to my new place the other day, still have 15 girls in flower all pretty big. I was at new grow house and i got a voicemail on cell and check it. It was landlord of place i rent where i grow. I dont live where grow is so I rented a place. Anyway the message was saying that the front door of place was hanging open and that they would send mantainence up to fix it right now. Landlord also said they went to the front door to close it. The grow is in back room but not far away and i freaked out. I told matainence man not to go into the place till i am there. So it took me 30 minutes to get there and all was well when i got back but i was freaked that they could have went into back room and saw my girls. Nothing happend this time but luckily the grow is moved fully now and no landlord to worry about with that place.

i know how you feel, there's times when i hear my friends or their friends talking about how they want to start growing, they have all these whack ideas and plans about how they are gonna do it and i just let it go because i don't want them to know that i know so much about growing.

i want to say hey that isn't gonna work you need to do it like this n like that. and this is how you do this and that but i don't want to expose myself like you say....they'll obviously think i grow forsure if i say all them things....most their styles, ideas, and info are growing myths.

it would be cool if someday it was just legal so you could sit down and have normal conversations about growing and strains. where i'm from it isn't that smart to say you got some ak-47, bubblegum, skunk, hashplant, blueberry, sour d, ect, because that stuff just isn't anywhere to be found....it's just commercial canadian nugs and some old schoolers smoke schwag so if you bust out and say you have all these killer kinds of pot your just giving yourself away.

cool story though....you'd think they would clean up a little or hide that kind of thing a little better knowing that a stranger is gonna be in their house....i'd have my place so clean and normal looking with my things well hidden behind something locked if i knew a stranger was coming in to do some repairs....atleast your mj tolerant though so they are safe this time...they should definatly be more carefull!

Right before I tore mine down for security reasons back in the summer, we decided to get cable. Well, the cable line inside was missing at the outside hook-up, and the guy still couldn't find it after sending signals through the line.
So on his last attempt on the outlet in our bedroom, he leans down, starts doing his signal thing, and it dawns on me that he's eyeballing the powerstrip that the bedroom fan, battery charger and the grow's timer, lights & fan were plugged into---I'd turned off the lights & fan, but I forgot to unplug the cords to the grow and stuff them back in the closet.
In the meantime, I'm sweating bullets, and the cable guy just chuckles, and says, "Don't worry about it, I toke, too." He ended up installing a whole new cable line, and while he was doing that, I ripped everything out and junked it.

Considering he offered to buy my bottle of percocet, I doubt he was much to worry about, but I tossed everything anyway, and haven't set anything back up......

Yea that sux that you can not lend a helping hand. And coming from a great gardener and such that would have them on their way to smoking some great puffs.. I hope you find a way to help them.. Ill be thinking as well if i come up with anything ill be back

yes pulling your grow is a major pain. I have had to do this several times, even during my last grow. Having a backup safe location is a blessing for sure.

I have a landlord that pretty much plays by the rules and notifies a few weeks out. When I first moved in I do think one of the agents for the landlord was coming into my place every few weeks. I think it was some kind of tryst thing going on.... in my bed damit...

I suspected this because I would find a side door incompletely locked or one of the deadbolts not locked on the front. I double check then often drive 100 yards up the road and come back to double double check... :smile:

Anyway I borrowed some bondage gear and such and left it laying round the place.... no more visits except those that are supposed to happen. Either that or the person concerned left..... who knows..I suspect that at least 1 visit was during my first grow..... hard to imagine not getting busted so again... who can tell

perhaps I am just tricking myself into thinking this....

As for sharing the knowledge its hard isn't it... so want to help someone out.. but you just got to bite your lip sometimes. Oh well, if people google they will find us.... perhaps thats the answer... tell them to look it up on the net....gotta be lots of good info on the net... surely... then they can come join us
