So I was smelling the tube of my bong last night after a rip and there was a faint smell of fungi, it was a clean smell very much like mycorrhizae, I have also had soil bud from a dispensary that had a similar smell but stronger and actually a slight flavor, and I always see organic spanish seed companies list a flavor of some strains as 'biologique'

of course the concern is some other fungal contaminate, but presumably the dispensary bud passed regulatory tests, and it makes sense that bud grown organically with fungi being a major part of how it was fed could end up with some faint nuances in the smoke

I'm not super concerned as a joint of the weed I grew tastes good all the way down to the filter tip and doesn't irritate my throat any more or less than usual, I mostly thought it was curious to smell that in the bong tube

has anyone else noticed anything like this?

I haven't noticed that off the top of my head. If you need cheap way to clean bong Isopropyl is the bomb.

Throw a little Epson salt in there, the granules won't dissolve and they act as a scrub brush

Yeah anything granular works to physically remove the gunk while the iso works chemically. With their powers combined you can make a piece look brand new in less than an hour. Unless it's REALLY bad.

Vinegar is a good glass and stainless steel cleaner.

lol I clean my bong twice a week with alcohol and salt, it did get pretty gnarly over new years though
