Functional high strains

Hi all,
I am looking for a feminised variety that is easy to grow and is ideal as a day smoke that has a functional high (as opposed to a knockout stone) so as to be able to concentrate on work (I work alone with computers).

Back when OG was up, many people recommended Apollo 11 when I asked this question, but there are no feminised varieties available (too much hassle dealing with plant sexes for an noob like myself). The closest I can think of is Grapefruit from Female seeds (75% C99). Also, Flo (feminised) from Dutch Passion seems to be suited for this purpose and DP Isis looks good too. I was interested to get your opinions.

Haven't grown the fem, but there are powerplant fem beans over at GN's shop, that is a coffee smoke.

i hear dp's flo is pretty damn good too tho. i certainly would not go with the fem. version tho myself, just the regular stock. but if you agree with fem seeds that could work for you.

its really a great hybrid, superbly motivational high and great indica growth characteristics. i think its 60/40 - sat/ind.

I was going to recommend the Apollo 11. Im growing out Grapefruit right now because I like those "up" highs. It should be pretty similar to the A11 considering its lineage. So Id either go with the GF or C99.

I remember there used to be a thread on OG by musicians who really were impressed with Flo, saying that it was designed for just these purposes (performance enhancer when working).

i smoke flo , jack herer and super silver haze in the mornings and early parts of my day. more indica dom. hybrids have to wait until parts of the evening.. i find blue moon rocks to be a great 'get-together' strain when toking with some friends. and full heavy indicas like sour bubble, heavy duty fruity, mr. nice (g13xhashplant) are usually smoked in a nice snapper bowl right before i wind down for bed.

i am probably infinitely more productive when i match the right strain for the time of day and activities ahead of me.

I feel that a big breakthrough in humanities progress might come when strains are tailor made for specific occassions. I have in mind subtle strains that people of power smoke before a session of parliment for example. That get together strain sounds perfect for that. Perhaps coming genetic developments will see "smart weed" being engineered to great new heights..

It would be really great if pots reputation was more for "performance enhancement" or a catalyst for "working in the zone" I feel. It would be difficult for breeders though because the market does not really exist for that in large numbers right now - the demand is latent.

I don't have that much experience with many name strains, but I can also certainly vouch for Flo. I'm growing the DP version, and so far have two great phenos, both very different. Four more seedlings growing. I also work on computers (a lot), and have similar requirements.
Flo is totally clear - bizarrely clear in fact, to the point where you start questioning reality a little. As in, I'm high as a kite, and yet chatting with my mother on the phone as though nothing were happening. And being aware of the strange dichotomy, finding it fascinating, and still being able to function on the other tasks I was doing. Some folks might think it's not working after one, but after three of four, things start getting really psychedelic, but still totally clear. It's very well engineered indeed - like a mild dose of acid, or 2C-B, but with none of the trance-out. I totally recommend it

I was actually reading your grow reports on this strain only last night and then you post about it here. Great stuff!
It sounds like exactly the sort of high that I'm after. I guess you could put this strain on top of any "smart weed" list.

I too will say flo is the way to go, its a very crisp stone, relaxing, all the while functional...you just, go with the flo.

Mist of Destruction BX

These are the product of selective breeding of my Kalimist x Destroyer cross for sativa characteristics. These are the offspring of my current mother and an 2nd generation MOD father chosen for his fast growth and beautiful xmas-tree structure. These will be pure sativa and as such need special attention due a special plant. Like Kali clones may be flowered as soon as roots show and will veg in flower with no loss of quality. This flowering tecnique will help these ladies to finish sooner and help ensure a manageable height. High RH is no problem for these girls and budrot will not be a factor. Stretchy with no stopping point if given high nute levels but they respond well to LST and supercropping. Lots of branching means space is needed but a SCROG would work well also. Not much leaf to worry with but buds are light and airy with swollen brachs when finished. This is a very white sativa with good gland production.

The best sativa i have ever smoked. Out of the box she has a medicine taste and a haze smell with an uplifting buzz that will let you down softly with no residule effects. Clear and happy this high is great for daytime fun and play without the paranoia some strong sativas have. When you light up MOD in a room everyone gets very interested in what you are smoking. These meds cannot be taken in public due to the strong smell when burned. Be warned this sh*t stinks good. Be the center of attention at any party, grow MOD

Ive yet to get a taste of the kalistroy buds m.o.d. although the surrounding hype plus your obvious satisfaction with your cross got me interested. if I understand what your saying, is that from seed, right into flower and let it veg/stretch in flower so as to shorten the photoperiod? am I understanding that right? whats the length of flowering like...? thank you. have a good one.

I think that fet from spice brothers made a feminized apollo11. I do remember seeing a apollo11 x flo cross made Gamera called black tiger I believe he was going to put them on seedbay. The black tiger produced some of the coolest looking gear I've seen on here. The buds were almost black.

At first I didn't know whether to laugh or nod my head in agreement when I read this. Given the current state of the humanities, who would be able to tell whether someone's work was or wasn't performance enhanced by herb?

One thing's for sure, I'd be working on my master's right now if Apollo 11 was a course requirement.
