Full Basement/growroom cleaning tips

S

Hey folks:

In my quest to grow, I've gone through a few growroom designs, totally let my basement go to waste, and have ended up with two growrooms (one veg one bloom) and an entire basement that is messy, with dirt all over the place, leaves....everything I'm NOT supposed to do. :bashhead: Its gotten to the point where its such a mess it just looks too overwhelming to tackle.

After this harvest, it will be time to tackle it. I've got a few friends that I help out regularly that seem happy to help clean...I've just started developing my first mite problem (not sure if its thrips or spider mites, but I'm getting stuff to knock em both out regardless, and like I said I'm in the early stages of this problem).

So after this harvest, I'm fully cleaning the WHOLE basement including two grow rooms, and of course I want to finish it off with a total wall/floor/ceiling scrub to have the whole thing totally disinfected in every possible way. I will be able to move my vegging mommies elsewhere for a few days to keep them safe if needbe.....

Should I douse the entire basement in a 10% bleach solution? Bomb it with a bug spray (if so which one and how long till my ladies can go back down there)? Benzyol Peroxide? Avid? I want it left with no germs, larva, bugs, mites, dirt...anything...super clean and new.

Want to do it right and completely, and after that never let stuff get like this again. Any ideas on a total cleaning would be great....

i'd say if you bombing it... use something that won't kill any naturual preditors down in your basement like spiders and such...

Bomb it, then clean it, bomb it again a few days later, then keep no pest strips going, and they do not last as long in high air flow environs. I have a room clean up on schedule today also.

prevention is better...

prevention is better...

a nice shop vac, some bleach and a spray bottle would be a good start...

scrub-a-dub-dub...

clean up...don't wait.

if you get complacent, who is to blame?

after you clean it, keep it clean! :headbange

And if you have, can borrow, or rent an Ozone generator ....
They are commonly used in fire/flood restoration btw...so they don't actually draw any suspicions btw, they have legit uses.

i've never had to clean out a large basement or growroom before but i was thinking maybe one of those carwash nozzles where you can add soap (or in this case a little bleach or whatever) might be helpful. has good pressure on the "jet" setting to scrub down everything.
