I'm compiling information for growers who are in the 3rd world or simply don't have contact with modern fertilizers and don't have the time and materials to make a proper compost. I'd really love to see your suggestions or recipes for nettle or live plant material teas, quick liquid composting from fresh materials or any other recipes you may have.

Thank You!

heres a link that will help you. once you find local plants this will tell you what they are good for, theres an option for listing only plants good for compost. most weeds make an excellent tea as they are very vigorous and have lots of growth hormones. so first off i suggest finding out the local plant names before starting a compost. ive found out theres so many plants local to me that have numerous uses i would have never thought possible

Hey Zam, Paz was telling me he uses a tea made from banana peels for flowering ferts. And I'd suspect most fruit in general would be good for flowering teas.

Coconut milk has some natural rooting hormones, and cytokinins (sp?), and if you cut it with some water it makes a good seed soak solution, tried the seed soak myself.

nice one... i need to compile some of the links and research i have scattered and i will contribute once i've done that. maybe we can even get some peer review and experimentation going on.

what i wanted to try to do, which i mentioned to you zamalito, is explain how to grow cannabis with the most commonly available substances, which vary according to region of course, but for people in both rural and urban environments. when i have a little bit more space i will be starting my experimentation in this exact field with the intention to share the results as widely and in as many different languages as possible.

thanks for sharing, zamalito, jay and ganico, good stuff. that database is really ambitious, wow... still pretty incomplete though... but i just discovered mexican tarragon Tagetes lucida... gotta get me some of that

something i got in my notes

Banana skin (ash) 0-3.25-41.76
Banana stalk (ash) 0-2.34-49.40

this thread has potential, ive always wanted to grow weed from nothing but scratch and what i can gather myself. im about half way there now so lets keep this going.

everybody who knows us knows it's inevetable that we'd mention manures as a big key to soil fertility anywhere in the world . . . manure teas are easy to make and effective at multiplying friendly microbes that can help to restore soil fertility . . .

in the end . . . enlightened use of any/all available bio-fertilizers is the future . . . over time the world will not be able to continue "subsidizing" our farm production with the use of fossil fuels . . . even techniques such as using groundwater to water agricultural products will eventually become uneconomical as fossil fuel costs rise . . .

addendum . . .

obviously . . . in areas where there is ocean access . . . kelp and seaweed should be utilized where possible . . . :woohoo:
