can you filter the water that returns to the reservoir with activated carbon or whatever....like they use for fish tanks....???

Fill a small drain trap or whatever with the activated carbon...drain water could run through it and waterfall more effectively into the reservoir?

Is this a bad idea or a good idea?

Or maybe just fill say the lower 1/5 of your drainage line with loosely packed carbon....???

I don't know if it would filter any nutrients.... which would be the worry.

I'm perplexed as to why you would do this in the first place...?

okay bad idea...but say you were running an AC unit...then good idea for the drip water, if any...!!!

probably not. I am going to say any water collected by the AC is going to be pretty clean. I know the water collected by a dehumidifier is clean and can be dumped back into the rez w/o any treatement.

This is purely speculation, but the water that evaporates and makes into the AC or DH is straight water and leaves any nutrients, salts, and any junk behind. Just my theory

no...not to return it to the reservoir...just to remove the smell or scent of weed in the drip water...sorry first idea was bad...so now off topic...hehe

some AC units might use copper coils and copper poisoning in the garden sux so watch out for funky green build up!
yeah evaporated water is about as clean as it gets
