Friedrich breeze 2 ton mini split problems

Hey guys. Any insight or help would be very helpful as i am just about to start a new run. And now my unit isnt blowing cold air. Its a friedrich breeze 2 ton unit im sure alot of people are familar with it. So basically i installed it fine and i have been using it for almost 6 months with no issues. Im in the northeast and its winter so i was concerned last week with the temps getting down to -10 degrees so i turned it off for a few days and just had one light on. I have a 13x14 sealed room. Well sealed except for the hole i made for the lineset in the drywall .There was a old window basement window behind the drywall so it worked good I didn't have enough insulation around it i think mice mighta got in and pushed the insulation around. I built two walls and there is two original walls. The original walls prolly dont have the best insulation cause my room was sweating where the cold air came in for those colder days. And i had water drippingg from the unit . Turned dehuey up all was well Went to turn it back on after a cpl days and it was cooling then my hi temp sensor kept shutting the lights off thats wen i realized the unit wasnt cool.

So sorry for the ramble. My
Main question is did i fook something up by shutting it off. ? Should i try and have the lines vac and make sure theres enough r410a. Gonna do it myself unless i can find a trustworthy hvac guy asap to help me figure out whats going on with it. It also displayed a code HR or HS some shit lime that. it was on indoor unit wen i went in n saw it wasnt cooling nemore . Then i cleaned filter made sure condensate line wasnt clogged and didnt see it freezing newhere. And it seemed to be cooling again soni turned on two 1000 watters and i went in the next day and saw the hi temp sensor shut it down again and it has been blowing
Not so cold air since

I really hope i can figure this shit out Havent even paid the thing off yet lol. Thanks guys

Also the room was only sweating from the cpl outlets that were on that wall tjat had the lineset goiing threw it The whole room wasnt sweating

You need heat to produce cold. If its too cold outside the refrigerant in your lines wont expand into a gas releasing the heat that it has collected as it goes through the lines. You would need a mini-split that was built to still function in temps that you have in your area.

Also unless you have a federal license no HVAC shop would sell you refrigerant of any kind. Lots of them wont sell you anything at all, even stuff that doesnt require a license. Thats how Johnstone does it in these parts anyways.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I have used this unit in temps at about 0 degrees. But i turned it off before it got to ten below cause i was worried about it so it really wasnt running wen it was that cold. It has the inverter in it km pretty sure and ive read ppl using it w no problems in cold weather . It seems to be doing alright right now. But after i had it off for a cpl days then turned it back on wen it was warmer is wen it was acting funny . It seems to b working alright now. Was jist curious if it was better to keep it running during the really cold days then to shut it off. Thanks again. Ill post back if it stop blowing cold air again.

so you just turned off the unit prior to a cold spell?

did you shut the unit down at the equipment disconnect or at the breaker?

or did you just shut it off at the thermostat? i ask because settings may be saved in your thermostat. if your thermostat does not have backup batteries these settings may have been lost.

how cold is it outside when the unit fails?

is the evaporator frozen when the unit fails? is the evaporator dirty? not the filter... the evaporator. if you cannot see the evaporator directly, id suggest going into the units documents and looking for a guide or procedure for cleaning the evaporator. you might need a dental/mechanics mirror or something but i seriously doubt it.

you should get an error code somewhere on the unit... fugitsu only makes VRF units far as i know. VRF requires hard core instrumentation and control schemes to work properly, without a error code, they would fucking terrible to troubleshoot.
like trying to fix a check engine ligght on a new car WITHOUT the lovely OBD error code download things.

find this error code and go into your service manual(available online hopefully)or owners manual and copy paste the documentation.

do you have any manifold gauges? do you have a volt meter or clamp ampmeter?

do you know how to reset and or program the unit? yes they require some sort of "programming" sometimes via dip switches, and on the thermostat unit as well.

these thngs are smart as fuck, but if you have them programmed to do stupid shit... like running with defrost disabled, they WILL fuck up.

Alright thanks for the response. It seems to be working normal now. Mighta had shit in the condensate line . I shut it off before the cold spell wasoff for three days . Ill have to try and look for the codes i did a quick search couldnt find much. Also i dont have gauges but i might get em at some point to make sure theres enough refridgerant once i learn more about how to do it. I do have a clamp meter tho

pumped condensate lines rarely fail in my experience. then again im more familiar with the shoe box sized pumps like the little giant units.

you probably froze a coil or some shit but who knows.
