free standing scrubber, comments pls

Would a free standing carbon scrubber work if the cabinet freely vents into room with no odor control? Then the scrubber would be in the same room maybe near the outlet of cab.

Im thinking of getting an Ozone plug in too, so this should work well together... right?

Hello desme san,

If you are asking whether just having a carbon scrubber in the room to clean the air without having the air actually being pushed through the carbon by way of a fan, then no....that will not work.

The air has to be forced through so that each air molecule hits the carbon for 0.1 seconds(There are ways to calculate this by the way).

I would also not use Ozone(O3) if you are going to be living in the room or being their for extended periods of time because its bad for your health.

Also...try to get carbon with a high CTC rating. CTC is carbon-tetrachloride. This is the compound that removes smells from the area. The higher the CTC rating on the carbon, the better it is for smell removal.

damn. I was hoping it might work. So cancel that.

O3Gen would be on a timer of I chose to use one. I would only get one IF I chose a strong odor strain.

Hello all,

Have you considered attaching a fan to the CF to filter the ambient air. It would work but not as well as if the grow box air is filtered directly.

So you may have some smell...not the best situation but better then none.

That's what I ment MindsI. I was going to build a carbon scrubber inside a box, or some ill design and have it in the room. If the smell never leaves the room, everything should be OK.

I may just get that plug in O3gen, just to be safe though. I know it's not the safest option, but Im rarely in the room anyway, so I can just turn it off while im in there.
