Free John Sinclair and ALL Marijuana Prisoners!

It's been nearly 40 years since John Lennon and Yoko Ono attended the John Sinclair Freedom Rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan. John Sinclair, poet, pothead, cultural revolutionary, manager of the rock group MC5 and Chairman of the Rainbow People’s Party of Ann Arbor, was busted in 1969 with two joints and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

This excellent article tells of the events leading up to the rally and how the rally managed to free John Sinclair within days.

And today there are more marijuana prisoners than ever! The battle has not been won yet. We must redouble our efforts to free these political prisoners, just as John and Yoko and the other musicians did back in the 70s.

funny I used to get a lot of calls asking for john all the time ...seams our phone numbers were very similiar mine ended -0420 (thats the number they gave me) one day I struck a conversation up with a women and she explained to me who he was(and i hinted at the irony of it considering my certain skill set) and invited me to go bowling with them or see a show at rock and bowl.... I must have forgoton it all until this thread....been like 12 years now heheee

Being locked up for herb, I understand where the people are coming from. I have been down before. Also best friend recently got out of fed for a med grow. We all deal with babylon and this bullshit but in reality we are free to do what we want, just have to get away from the mindset the govt puts us in. Easier said than done sadly. But like lennon and yoko we can send out the energy and do the works to change the mindset of the few who dont realize the potential of the herb!!

Here in the United States a young man in alabama i believe was given 26 years for selling an ounce to an undercover student. Totally a violation of human rights. just a few of the many outragous examples here in the u.s.

Peter said it best "Me nah go'a jail fe ganja no more"

Wow... John Sinclair. I haven't heard that name in many years. I hope he's still alive, but chances are good that he went the way of all our young leaders after the corrupt friggin' Nixon boys got ahold of them.

These were the days of Abby Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, and the Black Panthers.

Before they turned us all into pussies.

As the story says, John Sinclair is living in Amsterdam (I've met him several times there - shot pool with him too!). He's still into poetry and doing pretty well last I saw him (around 2005)

Nice to hear that John is alive and well.

I have some left over tampons in a bathroom drawer for the rest of you.
