I wouldn't recommend it, if you can avoid it...
What kept me going was all the help I received from my family and friends...and many people I have never even met, right here on this site, and a few others.
Its true that you soon find out who your true friends are when you go to jail. Those that make an effort to try visit you, cheer you up, and help you feel like you have not been forgotten.
The main thing is to keep your sanity, and not go getting depressed.
You were in my thoughts these last few years. We haven't met personally, but it felt like a friend was being locked up when the news first came out. I've seen that happen to friends before.
I hope everything works out with your wife and kids. She sounds like a great girl, standing by you when you were locked up. I hope to find that kind of love (again) someday.
