It's called sketch up and for the most part.. IT ROCKS. I just found out about it yesterday and only made up a table thing I need to make.

yep, it works great, we have a thread here for parts, and there have been some other threads about it. i'm designing my mother box in sketch up too

Thanks for throwing up the link, I'm aparently lame and slow too, because i've never seen it and think its pretty neat. Took half an hour to teach myself the program, built the stand i was thinking about for holding trays for coco slabs. Nothing special but just nifty to be able to model.

Have some issues, probably just with me not knowing how to use sketchup well enough. I built the stand, made each leg/joint a component. Then built a basic tray to match the dimensions of mine, made it a component. The problem is when i try and place the trays into the stand it wants to line it up to things where the parts will collide, instead of sitting neatly in its hole. The stand i modeled is like a standard one, 4" deep middle, angled just a touch, with 3/4" edges to hang on the tray.

nah, you guys aren't lame or slow, its easy to miss topics that don't come up all the time. SketchUp does take a little practice, but its great for a free tool. The biggest piece of advice that i can give you guys is to use guides (the tape measure) they help immensely when it comes to adding and subtracting (push/pull) from components
