Jaykush, or anyone really, have you made FPE from alfalfa? I'm just curious how using alfalfa fresh would be different than in a FPE. I guess that same would go for any other FPE, that we have access to in an unfermented state, like guano. Behind this question I'm wondering how much of any effect, is the bacteria in a FPE, or the lowered PH........scrappy

using fresh alfalfa how? as a top dressing? mulch? of course ive made FPE from alfalfa, i grow my own alfalfa. its a great veg fert almost = to nettles. and better in some ways. if you can get nettles, alfalfa is the next best bet imo. cheap as dirt too.

from what i have seen on bacteria in FPE with my scope. is the first 24 hours if you chop the material up fine the bacteria bloom like mad. then slowly they decrease in population over time. eventually leaving you with a nutrient rich "soup" not so biologically active. but thats on thats not the point FPE is not ACT.

not sure on PH, i dont check or bother with that crap.

The camellia brew didn't harm the strawberries, and they are still spitting out fruit two months later than usual. Can't say it was the FPE though - the weather has been crazy and a storm sstem halted the plants in mid flower, then after the excessive rains left they had another season.

Been too busy to experiment with FPE's much unfortunately, as they show great promise.

This is a great idea. I'm dissapointed that I'm not growing marigolds this year. I actually had a bunch of marigold blooms fermenting, but I wasn't sure if there would've been any benefit.

I'll definitely have a ton of blooms to use though.
