FOXTAILS?!?!?!?

I have been reading up on some particular strains lately and i was wondering about foxtails?... are they only a natural occurance or can i do something to trigger them opposed to normal tight bud structure? or is there certain strains that tend to do this more? maybe more sativas? just wondering because i have seen some amzing looking ones on some Kali Mist posted here and i have never smoked a bud of that amzingly beautiful calyx structure...and i want it,(along with some Kali Mist itself). any input welcome, thank all!:joint:

i dont know why it just seems like it may taste or smell better, it has such beauty and appeal i just want to eat one like a churro! hahaha

I think its genetics and carried more by sativa's, I think heat stress is very very unlikely to cause foxtailing. i'm sure come expert can enlighten us though :)

I don't know what he means.

I thought a foxtail was when the bud takes on a spiral appearance. The look cool for sure.

Then there are post describing it as a a small bud growing out from a large bud. If that's the case, uneven lighting is possible.

I also though I read that this can also be cause by buds from two different nodes that are too close together. They combine. The inner bud manages to find a weak spot in a outter bud and reaches for the light. This might make a "bud" more potent because it's possible there would be 2x the THC and trichromes.

i've noticed in the past that their seems to be more meaty calyxes with a higher veg matter to resin ratio when it comes to hevily foxtailed buds like the one pictured above.

for instance when a plant has many dense clusters of light airy calyxes that are covered in resin the end ratio of resin to plant matter is higher......with hevily foxtailed buds the plant matter is denser per calyxe because of the genetic/mutated trait.

I know some plants, sativa based typically tend to foxtail.

I've also seen it happen to a plant that naturally hermed itself and all bud production after pollination was foxtailed seed pods.

I know someone with nycd whose buds are just like in the pic just different color, its some of the best tree around. Don't write it off as weak or leafy because the cannabis i've seen is very far from either. I used to call it crown weed because it kinda looked like a crown with "Fingers" pointing up.

Does the cannabis with foxtailing you guys have seen seem to have calyxes without hairs because the stuff around here is pretty hairless, i've even been asked if it was hightimes weed and because I am a med user I don't share so some poeple still thing i'm getting a placebo effect but this stuff is far from regular strength way above.
