Like Phillthy stated, Ocean Forest contains enough organic nutrients for about 2 - 4 weeks. Its varies. What I don't understand is that everyone always rush to give their plants nutrients, then they end up with other problems. I usually give them about 1/4 strength nutrients at around week 2.5 - 3. I keep it at a low dosage just to make sure they stay healthy. Also watch your plants because they will tell you when they need them...

With that stated, everyone is going to give you different answers...

Yeah, as suggested above, I start them on a weak nute at week 2-3, so by the time week 4 rolls around they are getting strong nutes (I bump 200ppm per feeding usually) and then I just continue on.

Not bad eh?

thanks for all the help everybody. im glad i asked bc i was def gonna just do full strength at week 2. Now i will def go at 1/3 or 1/4 strength to start, im thinking i will wait till around week 3, im in the beggining of week 2 and they seem to be ddoing well so far. Has anyone ever heard of or have experince with hesi nutrients? and by the way LazyMan- thats a sweet setup. i hope i can get somthing that big and badass someday

Sorry, but ocean forest does not contain "synthetic chem nutes". It's 100% organic. Read the organic grower forum on here.

thats what u think, the marine quisine they add to it for nutes isnt orgainc completely, just isnt.

check there website, peace of mind plus happy frog and big bloom nutes=all organic. its the marine quisine. much like pbp by botanicare or there new organicare isnt organic foxes ffof isnt by just a hair. try happy frog, great for nats.

no need unless you see the plant needs it. Phillthy was telling you the truth---bottom line is how big is your container. In theory, you could just pot up and continue to use straight water.

best of luck and good growings

I think you are misunderstanding. We are speaking about the ocean forest soil NOT the nutrients. I know that Grow Big/Tiger Bloom is not 100% organic and Big Bloom is. The Ocean Forest soil is 100% organic.

Hell if you read one paragraph below you see this:

Just What Is An Organic Fertilizer?

Organic fertilizers come directly from nature. For example, our Peace of Mind® and Happy Frog® fertilizers are made up of ingredients like alfalfa meal, bat guano, and bone meal. Big Bloom™, our liquid plant food, contains earthworm castings and Norwegian kelp. And when you dig around in our organic potting soil, Ocean Forest®, you’ll find composted forest humus, peat moss, and marine ingredients like crab meal.
When you use organic products in your garden, you are providing the finest ingredients nature has to offer, harvested from all over the globe. These nutrients may be released more slowly, but they’ll last longer, too. Because the ingredients are all natural, they provide a rich, well-balanced meal to plants—one that is packed with important, but often overlooked, micronutrients.

How is the "marine" ingredients not organic? It uses some additives such as crab meal, and that is organic as well.

Crab Meal (5-2-0.5)
Description
A 100% natural soil additive, crab meal is a by-product of the crab meat industry, crab meal is made from shells and offal of coastal water blue crabs. These crabs are harvested from Maine to Mexico. The shells are kiln dried then pulverized into a beige-colored meal.

Now, the Marine Cuisine ferts are not organic, but they do NOT add that to the OC soil!

i used ffof to veg but once i went to flower i put em in promix/perilite. i didnt use grow big as i only vegged for 3 weeks, and i think grow big is pretty harsh on small plants, i always over ferted when i used it before and got burn no matter what. I started like 1/4 teaspoon on tiger bloom and like 1/8 teaspoon open sesame with my big bloom and liquid karma.

should i be worried about not havin enough N? The plants look great, bottom leaves on a few had alittle yellowing and on a few tips, but 98% of the plants were lush and dark green. should I get an N fert? I sprinkled some "soil sweetener" which is fancy dolomite lime, Ive looked at cal-mag but never used it.

K.

EDIT: I called them up and they told me the information that I posted. I asked them if any chemical nutrients were added because I heard that another rep mentioned it...they said that the rep must of been misinformed.

It's all in my thread, but right now it's AN Sensi (I use varying amounts of both Grow and Bloom nutes throughout their life) and in the last couple weeks just some Koolbloom powder/molasses.

That's really about it for food in the tanks, but I do foliar feed with Dutch Master (Penetrator, liquid light, and DM grow/bloom) as well as Floramite and neem treatments. The only other thing in the tanks is Gnatrol for fungus gnats, or peroxide if no Gnatrol.

Keep it simple, too much crap in the res is expensive and often pointless.

I just wanted to make sure I understand correctly. Are you saying it would be acceptable to transplant through out the flowering period?
