I'm going to give Fox Farm Ocean Forest a wirl on the next grow.
F.F. Big Grow, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom will be also be. Seems I read
somewhere that in later stages plants were showing signs of low
mag levels . (can't find the thread)

Would adding lime and epson be advisable ? Antthing else ?

Stuff at my disposal

Lime
Epson salts
Kelp
Blood meal
Bone meal
Worm Pooo

THX
bilgeweed

Yes, i would add some additional lime. 1-2 TBL per gallon of mix. Leave the Epsom salts out, when and if u feel u need more mag, dilute the epsom in the water and feed accordingly. I've never used Fox farm ocean forest but i've read it's some pretty rich stuff, so you could more then likely leave the additonal blood and bone meal out. Adding some Kelp meal wouldn't hurt, but it's not required. Numerous people use this FFOF with the rest of the Fox Farm line and have outstanding results. Only thing i might think to add is some additional perlite, but again, i've never used the FFOF so i'm not positive it dont already have efficient perlite levels in it. Hope i helped a little. -Opt

I'm thinking on using Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil next grow too. The only thing I would add is perlite, lime, gypsum, and maybe some green sand. At $20 a bag it's pretty expensive though.

I used foxfarm all of the above for mine. I messed up with too much heat, so i don't get to see the ultimate results, but I did have to add alot of perlite, and I ended up having to add dolomite lime, because my ph plummitted without it. I only used a teaspoon/gallon of soil though, and I think my last reading was just over 7ph, but i think it bounced up a little cause of the heat and not using the ferts. The lime was keeping the ph at a consistant 6.5 up to then.

I've been using FFOF since seed (70%FF,30%perlite). I also have Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom, which I am feeding according to the schedule (less than they recommend though). So far I've got no burns, the plants are exploding, and the levels were all ok the last time I checked. I was thinking about waiting two more weeks to flower them, but they are getting SO bushy (LST) that I don't think I'll have room for them if I wait any longer.

hey everyone... I just started using the FF Ocean Forest on this grow, but i also use Fox Farm Light Warrior to mix along with perlite, coca, & castings. I honestly am a bigger fan of the light warrior, but i mix them with a 4-2-2 (LW,OF,Castings) for veg and 5-3-1 for flower and have noticed a much bigger difference in overall health and vigor of my plants. Never was really a big believer in spending so much money on soil, but it does make a huge difference. The only other alternative IMHO would be to make your own recipe for pre-ferted soil, but I dont have the space. either way, im a believer in their soil now. peace :joint:

I too am a fox farms fan and have used O.F. soil mixed with some perlite with great success. I'de recommend not adding anything else. Add the lime if ph gets out of control or to aid with Mg, but other than that O.F. is packed full with enough nutrients to sustain a typical MJ plant throughout it's cycle. Grow Big is also a great fert for Veg and the Tiger Bloom seemed a little too weak for me, but I have seen great results with it. I'm currently using F.F. Beastie Bloomz for Flowering. My next grow however will be switched over to Open Sesame to see what that one's like. You definately won't be dissapointed with this stuff. It's great!
