Fourth week of flower - problems

Turbulence

New member
This is my first grow and I used all bagseed and unfortunately only ended up with 2 females out of 9 seeds :badday: Now the 2 females conditions are degrading as they near week 5 of flowering under a 400w hps. I have been feeding with peters 10-30-20 bloom fertilizers at a 1/4tsp every 3-4 days when I water. Cheap PH meter says the soil is at 6.8. I have also been adding epsom salts at around 1/4-1/2 tsp. I have a few ideas as to what might be wrong but I would like to get some extra input.

Use one with twice the amount of N you have now(19-31-17 is what I use) for the first couple of weeks of flowering next time. Helps them carry through to the end easier. Nice looking buds though :joint:

Ferts too weak...

Ferts too weak...

1/4 teaspoon a gallon peters 10-30-20 gives you this:

n 30
p 39
k 50
mg small amount

You should get n closer to 100. That is the reason you are seeing the yellowing like mtf sandman suggested before. So, try 3/4 teaspoon per gallon to get this:

n 90
p 117
k 150

If your dolomite lime providing calcium and magnesium in your soil mix is running low, you have a couple options:

> if ph is low like 5.5 or less, add 1 1/2 teaspoons dol. lime per gallon of soil mix. Water in

> Or if ph is not low, add calcium and magnesium to the fert water along with the peters. You want a 4:2:1 ratio of potassium to calcium to magnesium. So with 150 k, you want 75 ca and 35 mg. 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water of both powdered gypsum and epsom salts. If you can't find gypsum, look for calcium chloride in bottles sold under names like blossom end rot stopper for tomatoes. It will require net weight and % calcium on the bottle to find 75 ppm ca. Calcium nitrate is also a substitute at 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. This is the least favorite option because it adds 50 ppm nitrogen which we don't really desire in flower. (still would work ok if this is all you can get) Ph will rise slightly with the calcium nitrate. Cal mag plus is a store bought calcium/magnesium suppliment with calcium nitrate and magnesium nitrate. It adds nitrogen. about 9 ml per gallon would give you enough ca and mg.

How do you know it is Black Velvet? It sure sounds like him. Popping off with all these numbers and elements off the periodic table and his bullshit hoodoo voodoo. :bat: :bat: :bat:

He is the only one on this board who would spout all these numbers and give text book advice to people. Only a non-grower would post that kind of BS. Remember everybody K.I.S.S! Maybe this guy should use some STUMP REMOVER! :pointlaug

Sproutco(banned)stonewall(banned)Hotgurl(banned)blackvelvet(???) now 8 ball :moon: :bat: Stop trying to kill plants you asshole!!

Well I don't know about 8-balls advice, but it looks to me that could it be a mag issue. And the truth is I haven't added any source of calcium yet in the grow, probably my problem right there... But I figured out that the gypsum i used last night to make homebrew is just what I need. So is a 1/4 tsp of gypsum about right per gallon?

What's up fellow homebrewer? I try to copy Guiness :D

Yes, that gypsum would be perfect. So to add to your gallon of water:
3/4 teaspoon peters 10-30-20
1/4 teaspoon gypsum
1/4 teaspoon epsom salts

You don't need cal/mag if you have just repotted and there is fresh dolomite lime.

This will work best if after everything is added to the water you adjust the ph to about 6 or so.

Funny. Google "teaspoon gypsum ppm". Homebrew directions appear. Your trying to add 60 ppm ca constantly. You will see 1/4 teaspoon gypsum per gal is about that. 1/4 teaspoon epsom adds about 30 ppm mg. 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium.
