This is the first chapter of the continued documentation of my outdoor efforts to produce enjoyable weed for personal need (… outdoor spot 1 2018, forest glade 2019). Personal need includes to be generous to guests and friends. Main focus is to handle tropical strains/genes that has to be adapted to the moderate climate at 49°N. Therefor I use mainly semi automatic or automatic flowering strains as bases for own crosses. Goal is to (semi-) stabilize these crosses in F2, F3 … generation. Another (smaller) focus is the adaption of strains with relaxing and medicinal effects.
Above all my stimulus is, that any time soon I can`t grow indoors for private reasons. The only thing possible will be to germinate the seeds in late spring indoors and grow them two or three weeks before transplantation outdoors.
I have to stand back from my tendency to have a greater variety of different weed. That’s the major challenge for me.
2020 forest glade strains/crosses:
1. Auto Zamaldelica. Two plants. Seeds soaked March-14-2020, transplanted outdoors mid-May).
2. CBD#1. One plant (seeds soaked early June, Transplanted outdoors early July)
3. Semi Auto ACE x TT ((Haze x Thai x Amnesia) x (Muay Thai x Golden Tiger). Two plants. Seeds soaked April-14-2020, Transplanted outdoors mid-May.
4. Semi Auto ZamBl x ZamHT (Zamal Bliss x (Hash Thai x Zamaldelica)). Three plants. Seeds soaked June-6-2020, transplanted outdoors July-10-2020.
5. Semi Auto AZZE x AT ((Auto Zam x (Zam x Ethiope)) x (Muay Thai x (Muay Thai x Aurora Indica)). One plant. Sees soaked June-12-2020, transplanted outdoors July-10-2020.
I will post photos soon. Feel free to comment my posts or to only read and watch what happens out in the forst glade.

+/- day 95 for both plants. Only a few days left until harvest. The mould risk is very high at the moment. Older leafes are turning yellow. I have not treated the spider mite attack because of the advanced flowering state.

Both are healthy. First resin appears. First flowers have arisen already indoors after +/- 25 days from seed. Flowering is speeding slightly up since solistice. Therefor semi autoflowering.
ACE x TT 1 is smelling floral, has slightly broader leafs and faster flower development. ACE x TT 2 has a bitter sweet smell with hints of cherry. ACE x TT 2 seems to be litte bit more related to Tiger Thai side (Muay Thai x Golden Tiger second version) side of this cross.

early flowering stage
larger pheno height 190cm. Stemrub smell is floral and slightly oily.
smaller pheno height 160cm. Stemrub smell is floral and slightly bitter.
Both are slightly polinated by a ZamBl x ZamHT male to produce F2 seeds. So in upcoming mircro winter 2020/2021 I will try to transform this semiauto line into full-blood auto line.

flowering is progressing.
ACE x TT height 225cm, smell is floral and spicy incensy.
ACE x TT height 190cm, smell is "darker" spicy incensy.

I guess there are round about six weeks left until harvest. Both are flowering slowly and continiously since early/mid May, only slightly speeding since solstice.

Thank you welldone,
I hope the plants will show what they are made of also in the upcoming weeks without attention/watering during vacation time. This kind of semiauto/auto plants, that is infused with mainly tropical sativa genes, is in general very resilient. The bud size should increase significantly until end of September, early October. Let´s see. These girls are no cacti.

Glad to see you keep working on your semi autoflowering sativa projects for your climate paisajedehierba :) I'm sure your good job and persistance will be rewarded!

Congrats on your Auto Zamaldelica harvest, looks like they have to dealt with the challenges of outdoor growing but the yield was quite good and buds look resinous and potent.
Did you pollinate them ? Auto Zam would be a great addition for your breeding projects.

The bigger semi auto plants with African and Thai satiav genetics looks great as well, floral, dark incensey terpenes sounds like my cup of tea ;) Best wishes!

Hi Dubi,
thank you very much for your encouraging words.
I did pollinate a Auto Zam girl last winter with Zam x Ethiope (AZZE). The F1 results are promising ... resinous, tasty and a energising high with reduced relaxing development at the end. Sadly I have not found a male without hermie flowers. The attempt happend during winter in the cold cellar room. Therefor no auto girls of this line outdoors in 2020. I´ll give the AZZE F1 seeds another try in the upcoming indoor season (in autumn to hopefully avoide very cold temperatures).

Ealiest flowering. No resin at the moment and no significant smell. But a healthy and strong bush. She`s two weeks slower than I`ve expected. Hope that she`ll be ripe fast enough to avoid frosts and never ending mold weather here at 49N.

Stil an early flowering stage. The plant is strong and flexible. There are a few warm or hot days possible until Early October. The fluffy bud structure seems not to be that prone to mold. Her life will end with night frost during October, perhaps first half of November.
At this point I am looking forward to the F2 generation... that should contain earlier/faster flowering semi automatic individuals.

Advanced flowering stage... but still a few weeks to go. The genetic cocktail contains (a not near specified) Haze, different Thai strains, Golden Tiger (2) ... and a hint of Amnesia. Flowering has begun in May. Looks like she´ll need all in all 18-20 weeks.
The buds are voluminous, heavy and are showing resin. The smell is very spicy and incensy with floral hints on ACE x TT 1 and bitter sweetness on ACE x TT 2.

This year I have not much time to observe the plants. I recogniced late that CBD#1 was much more hungry than ACE x TT and ZamBl x ZamHT.
She suffered. I am not sure if only the deficiency is visible one the older leafes. Perhaps there is a pest infestation too.
Never the less...after a good meal of organic tomato fertilizer she´s better. Flowering progresses fast now. The smell surprises me positive... hazelnut, coffee, hints of hash at the moment. More and more resin is visible. The size and vegetative structure of CBD#1 seems to be very good to withstand stormy weather. By now no signs of mold.

Both plants are unaffected by storm and rainy weather. The resistance against fungus and strong wind is good.
ZamBl x ZamHT 1 smells very similar to Zamal Bliss outdoors 2019 and I think she will be ripe just before the frosts. ZamBl x ZamHT 2 seems to be to slow.
I am very happy with ZamBl x ZamHT 1. I´ve harvested 35 seeds ... F2 generation .. some more are still not harvested. The seeds from this plant should produce a percantage of really fast semi autoflowerinig individuals. Golden Tiger 3. version will receive pollen of a fast semi auto male of this line indoors.

This strain is joy to watch during early summer. It devolops chunky flowers and is looking exotic. The smells already from the young buds are infatuating. But there is problem. The center of gravitiy is to high above the ground because of the really fat and heavy mainbud. I´ve missed the right time to fix them near the mainbud.
I´ve rescued ACE x TT 1 by fixing her in the middle of the mainbud. But she looks awful now. The main bud can not be stretched upright. If she is healthy enough the buds have time to get riper.

ACE x TT 2 broke off near the fixpoint while re-erecting her. The yielded amount is really good, but the buds are not ripe. They needed three or four weeks more.

I was sure, that the F2 offspring of ACE x TT 2 would be the pollen donor for polinating Golden Tigre 3. version. Now my favorite is ZamBl x ZamHT F2 offspring. Because for me the "plant design" should be adequate for guerilla grow usage. The plants must be able to grow without much attention and have a great resistance/resilience in general. An early finish is also very important. ACE x TT seems to have a flowering stage that surpasses 20 weeks whith a finsh at the end of October/early Nov... usally too late at 49N.

harvested yesterday. The start of autumn was all in all cold and rainy. only a few mild days without rains. Night temperatures sometimes 10°C but mostly between 2°C and 7°C. Max Temp 20°C (seldom) mostly 10°C - 15°C.
It´s visible that she was hungry and the conditions were not really good ... but the buds are very resinonous with strong smell of hazelnut, fruits and coffee:yummy:.

The conditions were the same that CBD#1 had to stand. ZamBl x ZamHT 1 is on the finishing straight. Perhaps two or three weeks to go ... a good chance to get fully ripe. ZamBl x ZamHT needs another two weeks more. The prediction is bad for the next few days. Then increasing temperature and some hours with sunshine are possible. No sign of mold, increasing resin and a smell like cedar that I like much.:yummy:
