For tent: charcoal filter or exhaust?

A grow store has a tent package, a "complete package" as it were.
Among other things, it includes:
* Hurricane 4" 165 CFM Inline Fan
* Black-Ops 4" 200 CFM Carbon Filter
* 25ft Aluminum Ducting w/ Clamps

Eh? I don't grow indoors. I thought that a carbon filter got rid of any odor, so that exhausting the air would not be necessary. Is that not so? Thanks

Plants transpire water. Meaning what you water, goes into the air. This needs to be removed from indoors to prevent mold. Also venting air out of the grow, pulls fresh air into the grow.

Carbon filter is for smell.
You still need a fan to exhaust stale hot air and replace with fresh cool air.
Always use some sort of dust filter if not carbon. Dust collecting on fan blades and motor decreases life of fan.

So the exhaust air goes through the carbon filter and then out via the ducting? If the filter removes all smell, why not just blow it into the room after it leaves the filter? And while I'm at it: how far can such a fan push the exhaust air? There must be some limit, and if I wish to exhaust to outside, it is unfortunate nearly 60 feet.
