For Our Aussie Friends Hit Hard By Cyclone Larry...

G

Guest

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our Australian brothers and sisters affected by the recent devastating Cyclone Larry. For those of you unaware of this tragedy, a category 5 cyclone hit the Northeastern Australian coast and travelled inland, wiping out entire crops of bananas and sugar cane, destroying homes and towns, and leaving many without homes or a roof over their heads, as well as tens of thousands more without power. Entire towns have no power, and due to the remote areas it may take some time for it to be restored. Our dear friend Wallyduck is amongst those affected by this tragedy, and while there were no lives lost due to the storm, there is still a profound affect to all those caught up in this disaster. Sugar cane and bananas were not the only crops affected, and I am sure Wally's beautiful patch is now in tatters. I only hope that his home was spared, and he and his family are safe from injury.

Please join me in a moment of thought/prayer/meditation for all those affected by this recent and tragic event!

My thoughts are with Wally and his family and all other Australian folks. I heard about that cyclone yesterday that is just terrible. So many people without homes that is just so sad. Wally hope you and your family are ok and may the higher power be with you and your country in these tuff times.

Good on ya' guys, thanks for the thoughts given to my fellow Australians,
I'm moved that people abroad care enough to show their thoughts publicly,
you are all a benefit to humanity.

Whilst I was not affected by the cyclone in a literal sense,
unfortunately my Brother who's up there temporarily for work,
my older Sister and her new born girl plus my youngest Sister
who live there in the same home were affected and have lost
their home to this damn Cyclone. Thankfully there's more family
not far from them that can provide immediate assistance.

Sadly, there was one death attributed to the storm, an elderly person
died of a heart attack whilst the Cyclone moved over the persons home.
It remains the only death known of at this time.

Once again thank you guys,
I'm sure other Aussies will give their thanks aswell.

Stay safe and take care...
Awol.

Yeah I hope all you guys and girls in Queensland are ok. I was watching it unfold on the news, and it looked pretty bad. I'm just thankful the weather down here in New South Wales is a bit more predictable.

G'day,
spoke to Wally at lenght over the phone (mobile) 2 nights ago,he back at his home.

his homes luckey to be sheltered a bit,and withstood the big blow reasonably well, thay will have no power for a few weeks and the phone liines are down.

thay will not have power for weeks yet accordning to the energy repair mob.

he tells me he's rght,he's got a generator for a bit of power and a large block of Bubble Hash!

one of his patches copped a beating and is knocked around bad,but as Abby ststed,he will recover,he got lots of trimming to keep his going so he'll be right.

i'll let you all know if there any other news.
Kindest Regards,FT
