It's GOT to be a GIBSON!!
Anyone who is anyone is playing a Gibson, here is mine..

It's the cheapest Genuine Gibson money can buy and she will do until I save the cheddar for the Warren Haynes Signature model Les Paul.
Her two single coil P-90 pickups ooze raw power, all day sustain, and TONE to die for,it really is a great guitar for the money.
I call her melody and she spends most days on my lap,we only pet a little and flirt now but someday we will make beautiful love thru a Marshall half stack, the rest will be history!!
I also have an ES335 knockoff by Washburn and an old Mitchell accoustic to pluck.Music wise its old school blues, rock, and a little country for flavor.

I like heaviest stuff best, but, current projects are instrumental,(couple releases) and, I have a lot of classical and lighter material around haven't done anything with........Working on some heavy stuff, different project...(vocals, more exposure...)

I like the Jacksons...love ebony boards.....rosewood too soft for me...have grown to not like the "feel" (feels...."soft".........)....Like strats with maple,(never a rosewood board on a strat...don't like those at all..again...something about the "feel".... sometimes a heavier scallop..have had Jacksons with maple.....Have been thinking lately about someone putting together a couple things for me..(would love to have an LP body with a floyd with a Jackson ebony and emg's....maybe a pair....the other with maple......although not sure how it would sound....LP body, emg's, floyd with maple...I like better Strats with double coil(s)....but, depends on what your playing...sound your shooting for etc...but, lately just Jacksons with ebony boards.......

I was talking with someone this week about the newer BC Rich lines......and, am pretty impressed and was thinking about picking up a couple....neck through, ebony boards, exotic woods for less than a grand and was pretty impressed overall...would like to try a couple.....can't really find the same in that price range for the most part....

Like the 2:90/TriAxis rigs.....dual/triple Recs.....(love those armored cabs)...have been wanting to pick up the rackmount dual recs and try em out (a pair in the rack)...and have a lot of little stuff I like (lately, my absolute most favorite piece is the Digitech GNX's.....small, simple...can take anywhere,m work on stuff (digital 8 track, processor, not a bad one....drum machine, etc....really cheap and a lot anyone can do with it..(****, could do an entire release on one almost....) equipment though is always different, and, tech guys always bringing me new stuff to try out, etc......(thank god for tech guys....I couldn't wire up and program a rack if my life depended on it :biglaugh:...) I'm always looking for new stuff...Came across this rig earlier..... wondering what I can use, what I can toss/sell, etc, etc.....always changing stuff....Like Eventide, TC, Lexicon gear...someone told me Prophesy Dave Mustaine, so, wanted to pick one up and try it out....not insanely expensive...(I'm not cheap, just not stupid...gear these days sooooooooooo expensive......getting a little ridiculous.......the principle of the thing....I remember when you could buy LP's,Strats, Jacksons, etc (USA, hand made) for under a grand.....I see these Jems now going for like up to and beyond 5k each and pisses me off...(musicians...poor working people right? :biglaugh: How the **** is average musician going to afford 20-30k for a rig and a couple decent things...ya know?...).

Note: I swear by the DM Blue Steels......and always tell everyone to try them.....(cryogenically treated...forgot process, etc....)....they ****in kill........and, I go through a lot........a lot.....I play out a set pretty quick.....when recording, shows, always a new set, always,...always....so...I go through cases of those...definately I recommend all try them (you'll either be absolutely amazed and a die hard fan, or not like them :biglaugh:, but, I haven't had one person yet come back and say they didn't like them..........) I don't think people change as often as they should.....big difference......strings lose their life pretty quick..(well, more you play, etc....)...people break strings?.....ime......only when they're old....have never broken a new set in my life....and, I play pretty hard....I beat the shit out of em sometimes.....

Nothing like hot toobz!

I'm 100% metalhead. I've been playing guitar for 20 years, and I've used Jacksons almost exclusively the entire time. I had an Ibanez for a while it was ok, but low-end, got rid of that.. Got an Alvarez acoustic/electric that sounds really nice too. I wouldn't mind trying a Taylor or a Les Paul or something higher end, but I can't really justify spending the $, so Jackson it is!

I was never big into Fenders, strats always sounded too pingy for me. They make good jazz or blues guitars I suppose, but the ones I tried had too much high end for my taste.

i agree with the thing about the jem the only reasots so much cuz of 3 things
1. it has l.e.d. lights in the neck that you can turn on & lights up as your inlays
2. the splattered paint design on the body glows in the dark
3. its a 20th annavirsary model of steve vai
othr then that its your standard jem but i plan to buy a parker & have it customized with an insane inlay design that will cost me between $4000-$5000 bt probally wont be able to do it for a few more years & it will be the last one i'll ever buy again cuz it will be design to my excact specifacations
& be the ultimate guitar. way enough about my dreams heres some pics of what i got now.

jackson randy roads ex i just got a semor duncan dimebucker for it

jackson tomahawk with evolution pick up by di marzio at bridge

ive tryed the blue steel strings but there lways breaking so i went back to ernie balls cuz they can take a serious beating im now using 9's instead of 10's for a lighter feel

dean nylon string classical

dean cadillac

and I LOVE MY LINE6 :dueling:

i think there osom if you want a tube sound you HAVE to buy a tube head theres some simular sounds of tube on line6 but its not the same but if you want high quality solid head this is it i love the insane channel i also have a mini combo line6 spyder

Sorry, not trying to diss anyone and their Line 6, I figured the Line 6 troops would show up (haha), it's just that the digital distortion sounds are weak next to a tube head....as you acknowledge. I didn't realize how weak until I actually ran two next to the Mesa.....

Well, I've heard also (constantly) that the rackmounts are extremely "special" as far as quality...(have been told no less than like 50 times they're better than most stand alone duals and triples.....so...would really like to grab a pair and see what's up with that.......(Good thing about those at least...grab one, don't like it, can dump the same day/week, whatever for pretty much exactly what you paid for it because they are "rare".....(probably take you at least a couple weeks or so to even get a pair.....if not lucky, more.....)

I don't know about the Line 6's.....I wanted to grab a Vetta head to see what all the fuss is about.....tube is tube and that's that, so...but, more and more I see a lot of people using them and very happy, and, downsizing rigs by a couple hundred (thousand?) pounds is never a bad thing...

(Example: I was really , really set for the longest time on having case made for 4-4 x 12's...ala early Kirk Hammet....which I thought was extremely cool....until crew pleaded with me not to :biglaugh:...just the thought of it made em pretty salty :biglaugh:.....)

(Note to everyone who goes to shows and see's a backline of 100 Marshall 4 x 12's....they're not real :smoke: (unloaded....dummy cabs...same with heads...you see 40 heads..........they're empty :smoke:...just part of the "show :smoke:......)

Yeah, I wanted to grab a vetta and see what they're all about......I'e sat down here and there on occasion, thought they were cool, but, have never truly let one out to see what they could do :smoke:.....Lot of people have good things to say about Line 6 products...Dave worked(s?) with em also.. (Lot of guys dump things all the time, so....not sure if he is on them now or changed again :biglaugh:..) That's a clip of him with gear in studio for United Abominations...so......if one listens to that, I guess entire thing done with that rig....and...album impressive (sound.........very......)

Well.....no (and, same with a lot of other stuff.......especially Jackson custom shop, and, same with PRS's, etc.......) You know, you have a "collector" status accompanying a lot of these things...so..( I LOVE those 20th anniversery Jems.....maybe not 20th...the black ones with ebony boards, etc, but, again, am not going to pay 3k for something I will beat the shit out of, so....for a while now I just basically keep an eye out for the players (ie: stuff that people actually played, beat the shit out of, because then a lot of "collector value" gone......I mean, I'm not going to keep something in storage for value, etc, I get something, it's because I want to play it...so....I really like lately the earlier jems with the maple necks...(one piece...maple...etc...) really like those......

I'm surprised you don't like the blue steels and actually break em...(never have broken em unless old....so, usually if I break just a reminder I played em too long....should have changed em...so, I usually try to always stay on top of it.....sometimes....hard when a lot.......) I've definitely noticed a different "feel" and of course a different sound...I'm a pretty hard player, and, for extended periods....I mean, extended...when "in the zone" and a good day, recording and into it, whatever, can do 12hrs easy without putting it down......

I had when younger a couple deans....really liked them, and, really dissapointed I got rid of them...(had an old V....must have been...I dunno....was extremely used when I got it in like....I dunno...85' or so...had it for a couple years......) At any given time I can have a lot of stuff but really like to stick to the same stuff...(for feel, etc...) I don't really switch off unless need to for sound, or any problems, etc, etc....but, in those cases I can switch between the two primaries and be fine...(while tech dealing with one, etc....)

Shame I don't do the schedule I should......would be able to get some endorsement deals and get at least some stuff for free.....add's up (and, again, for those who don't know.....while endorsements can be about fame.....most of the time they are about shows.........ie: You do 200+ shows a yr......your going to get deals...no matter who you are....all about exposure.....all about exposure....I know plenty of "small" guys who all of them have a lot of endorsement deals going on...all about the shows.....(Depends......some manufacturers just don't give deals period..unless your absolutely huge.....and then maybe just a discount....I think Mesa is one...nothing for free, etc.......and, if your huge, paying for it not a big deal....)

i like the jems but i was disapointed to find out how much the 20th anaversery edition was cuz the standard edition jems range from $1200-$3500 not too bad but that 20th is like up near $5000 if i was to spend that much ide get one custome made to my excact liking & not to someone elses.

i mostly would break the small E string alot & have to buy a seperate string thats made from some other brand when i bought the pack. i break them with in a day or 2 from putting them on & just got tiered of it. ive never had that problem with ernie ball or d'adario i dont know what it is maybe a bad batch.

anyways when i do get a custome parker made it will never go on the road its for home only but i may buy a S model or S prestige ibanez the same series henry lee plays from dragon force & that will be more for road use. ide add dimarzio pick ups to bring it more to life thats my favorite ibanez. but for now i have enough what i call art work - for now

My fav. is a taylor BUT only have a martin. I got the taylor mag a while back and in it you could get a special edition guitar for a million and they fly you on a private plane to the factory to pick it up in person!! Thats the guitar I hope to one day own! :muahaha:

Love my Taylor 314CE - LOVE IT!!!! And want to get the Big Baby sometime for a beach guitar. The whole Taylor range is very high quality. You never regret spending the extra and buying them.

But i'm a mormon when you talk about guitar love.

Latest love is a very nice purchase of an American Fender Highway 1 Tele with the greasebucket circuitry in satin tobacco sunburst. Just a lovely sound and feel - good for blues but has quite a range of sounds. The tone control changes the sound of the guitar completely from spiky to purring to deep underwater. Great for incubus tracks, SRV, King of Leon etc - terrible for Metallica.

American Fender Roadhouse strat, same model as used by Billy Corgan, is a nice all rounder. Hot pickups again so with a heavy guage of string it can sound fierce. I can't shred for shit, but know it's great for Mike Mcready solos and Jerry Cantrell mimickry.

Even the cheap SE range of PRS guitars are eminently playable. But a Gibson gold top is my humbucker of choice. Solos just sound better on this guitar.

For amps I'd recommend all things Line6 (esp the new Spider 3 - and Flextone 3 combos) and their USB realtime guitar and mic soundcard "Toneport Ux2" with the Gearbox effects and amp modelling is ****ing wonderful! To be able to just plug in and play while browsing is just... just.... ok - i need to calm down - but it is really cool.

Guitars are like strains of weed - each one is different and special in it's own way. And you can never have just one. And you can never have enough.

Now play on ppl :smoke:

Speaking of...........was looking around like I do when a little extra money and wanting some stuff, and, came across something of interest (Koa RRG,ToL,) , kind of a case in point.....($3,000....) I'm tempted though, going to think about it......

Pretty much the only ones I see for 5k are the DNA's...(and, don't get me wrong, would LOVE to have one, and, always keeping an eye out for one beat to sit....abused, etc......Personally, I'm of the school things beat on and such develop a "character".......you know...after broken in........develops it's own uniqueness......

Lot of the Universe's, swirls get a little expensive......the Jem 7 (white, vine, like his primary) with ebony's now and then for like maybe 12-1500 or so.....I dunno...regardless......same thing...I see those LP reissues for more than 5k also, and, to me rediculous.....can't justify 5k for a guitar if same materials as something 1k...etc.......PRS kinda the same......which is strange since from my understanding you really want pre-...whatever (88'?)........checked into a custom shop once and they told me something like 12k and that was that :biglaugh: something similar could have grabbed from existing inventory for like...whatever......3-4k...etc...(Dragons arer funny...going to tell me they are worth 25-35-50k......what5ever they are at now for the I-II-III's......)

See, and, on that note I just double checked...you have 3(4?) different lines of BC Rich's now, neck through, Koa and others...,ebony boards , etc....even some with outrageous quilt tops ....for about $400-$1000 used and new......so, I mean...you could buy an entire line (well, a couple) instead of the one above...(which I'd like, but, think I'd like more having a Mockingbird, a Bich, and a 10 string Bitch...all the same...Koa...ebony boards..(which RRG above does not....they can't even put an ebony board on it....Most of the time you see Rosewood, but, of course, the reason is because it's cheaper :smoke:...and, all in all, cost difference not huge...(maybe 100 bucks...I could be wrong but not by much.......)

Anyway....I was confused...the black with ebony and bindings are the 10th's........clear Jem's are the 20th.....(I thought was just a new addition to line, similar to the DNA's but different bodies....always wondered about what material they use for those4 and sound properties of it, etc...(I know the have a JS like that also I think....)
i mostly would break the small E string alot & have to buy a seperate string thats made from some other brand when i bought the pack. i break them with in a day or 2 from putting them on & just got tiered of it. ive never had that problem with ernie ball or d'adario i dont know what it is maybe a bad batch.
That's a little odd....I never had a problem with em..(check the saddle and the nut.....that's a little odd.....) I actually had a similar experience with the others.....felt a little dead..lacking life (got a deal on a case of whatever's...DA's.....EB's..whatever....felt a little dead to me after oplaying the Blue steels for so long.......players know hard to explain certain things one feels, but, Blue Steels feel to me more...."liquid" for lack of a better word, etc....hard to explain...anyway...surprised you didn't like em...

(I've heard nothing but good things about the Elixir's...but, haven't tried those...and, hope I don't like those because they're a little expensive, especially if buying volume......:biglaugh:
anyways when i do get a custome parker made it will never go on the road its for home only but i may buy a S model or S prestige ibanez the same series henry lee plays from dragon force & that will be more for road use. ide add dimarzio pick ups to bring it more to life thats my favorite ibanez. but for now i have enough what i call art work - for now
Yeah, there's always a lot of stuff on my list...which is why so annoyed sometimes at prices.....I got a little money...ya know :smoke:, but.....grab everything I want with prices the way they are these days might be like couple hundred grand......you got single lexicon and Eventide pieces running from 2-4k, etc....I see custom shop (there's that word again :biglaugh: Mesa stuff going for like 3-4 also, etc......just a little annoying sometimes.....couple nice things these days costs ya 20k....not fair to people......especially players without the budget for it....really annoys me...(I give a lot of stuff to people sometimes...stuff I buy and decide I don't want, etc...charge em a little, but.....people can't afford that shit...ya know?....):biglaugh::smoke:.....
