FOLIAR FEEDING Qs

with the last few days being light drizzly type of rainy weather
Ive set a few plants outside to soak up the rain.
plants just go apey when they get a taste
it' also a good time to do some foliar feeds, which I really don't so hardly when the plants are inside.

got thinking and came up with a query about exactly what get the direct benefits.
regular watering/feeding, the root system gets nutes distributed accordingly where it's needed thru out the plant.

when you foliar feeds does the leaf that gets spray get and keep those nutes?
as in those leaves that don't get sprayed, do they still get benefit.
will the nutes be distributed like the root system does?

The plants can accommodate to eat foliar nutrients and turn some lazy eating from roots.

I use this type of nutrition when some lack is detected and for fine tune in some circumstances as prune or model the plant.

I use it from total ignorance, instinctively. With good and more immediate results.

The change can be easily verifiable with the refractometer, big changes in sugars. I have to check it.

And you can see it in little time.

I have used, different types of pellets, canna tv tf, and all....
PH 5.5 to 6 ec no more than 0.7 ms/cm.
Always in veg never in flo.

This is my little experience with foliar feeding. :tiphat:

It is nothing. :tiphat:

About nutrients and it's mobility, isn't so clear in deep, how many time and effort the plants use for move determinate nutrients.

But the election is easy, I use foliar feeding specially if the suspected deficiency had been described as immobile. It also help me for confirm or discard the suspicion.
After it with certainty in hand only left some work in the first layers of soil.

The questions
Yes because the plant use it and change.
All parts of the plant are related, if one leave is improving...
No, and depend if the nutrient is mobile or not but by the nature of the source are different.

Thanks!, it is a interesting conversation for think and improve.

If exist, some ploting relating ph and availability of nutrients in foliar feeding can be of help.

It is also always some risk with fungus.

The mobility can be easily checked isolating one stem from the rest of the plant, and feeding after. Also response times etc.
