A tightly sealed plastic barrier... it's the cold outside meeting your warm & humid inside air. Get a layer of dry air between the window pane & your room.

This is a tip I learned that seems to work. You can put a fan blowing towards the inside of the window. For some reason the constant air flow on the inside of the window does a great job at preventing condensation.
