Flushing?

Ok harvest is right around the bend and i want to plan to flush at least 2 weeks prior to harvest. My plan is to harvest one plant 2 weeks earlier than the others so that i can have some buds that give more of a head high and the rest couchlock...

Anyway so im trying to plan when to start flushing, the strain is DP BB 8-10week flower period according to them... So should i aim to harvest plant 1 week 8 (start flushing week6) and the rest week 10 (start flushing week 8)?

Would that give me the desired effect?

If you are growing in soil using half decent ferts,I've found flushing to be not necessary and in some cases a bad thing for the plants.I've had green plants turn yellow on me shortly after flushing, its a hydro thing IMO.You're better of ferting until 2 weeks or 10 days till harvest, then just using plain water letting the plant uptake any available nutes left.My plants are healthier since I started doing this as opposed to flushing the soil. Now if you're using a 1.98 fert I'm not so sure,I am sure about fox farms and PBP not needing flushing

yeah im using fox farm nutes exclusively... i wasnt gonna flush per se as much as just feed with plain water for 2 week / 10 days til harvest does that sound right?

Also when does an 8-10 week strain's trichromes turn cloudy? around week 8? or around week 10? thats where im confused, i dont want to start using plain water too soon but i dont want to do it too late either!

Its always going to be different with different pheno's nobody can really tell you that.If I were to think about it most indicas when trichs are fully formed may take 2-3 weeks to go from clear to amber, cloudy would be somewhere in between. Its not that critical, you've used good ferts just slow down on them using straight water the last 10 days-2 weeks like you said.If you grow the same pheno's over and over make notes on calendar on how much and when you fert and when you stop and use plain water,You'll find it wont take but a few grows before you hit that sweet spot on the different pheno's.Growing multiple pheno's at the same time is excellent practice and a great way to learn differences

its really a trial and error thing. but if it were me...in soil i would flush only the last few watering the last week before harvest...in hydro just the last 3-5 days. Ive heard it all..go a week..go two weeks..but all that happens if you flush feed in hydro for two weeks is you will stunt bllom maturity and see a nitrogen def.

the only ..ONLY point to flushing is to remove excess salts. in hydro that doesn't take that long since the plant is drinking all the time. the trick is to not starve her just when she neeeds her vitamins to pack on the last bit of weight and to create resins. in soil, if you water properly, you are flushing with every feeding so your really good to go.

truly, though, two weeks is bad news. better to flush less and cure better to get a good taste.
