I was wondering how much and how often people water/feed in 3 gal pots.I water every 5th day and use a full gallon per plant flowering in 3 gal container
I use 3 gallons and have been filling up a 5 gallon bucket every other day, I feed them each about 1-1.25 litres(yes , I measure) and w 18 plants this usually works out perfect,I dont like over saurating the soil as I think if im feeding more often it helps more than just feeding once a week, the plants are in their 3rd week of flower and are loving it, I also use plain water atleast once a week to prevent buildup...
depends how long mine have been in 3gal containers when they 1st go in 3-4 days i water again, i use the lift method to gauge when its watering time. as the time gose on i'll be watering every other day i water untill i get drainage then i stop move to next plant. this equals almost 1gal water and is approx 15-20% runoff
I do about the same and use about a half gallon per plant every 3 days. I use a lot of perlite and if I used an entire gallon their would be a big mess.....I also use the lift method to determine when they need watering....
I get about 20% runoff normally,if I flower in the smaller NSI classic 600 2 gal instead of the classic 1200 3 gal,I use 1 gal for 2 plants in 2 gal pots.I've been moving towards flowering bigger plants in the 3 gal.Anyone ever notice immediate yellowing(day or 2 after)when they water with straight tapwater?I'll be getting an ro system soon my dehumid only gives me enough for about half my vegging plants.I got some bad yellowing this last watering on the 16th,before I watered they were as green as could be.Some only a month in I only notice it when I use straight water every third time or so,I think I'll fert every 5th day just a little less
i'm pretty close to the same. i use 4 gal pails with 3-3.5 of pro-mix. did 5 weeks veg this time. transplanted from 1 gal at almost the 4 th week. i'm at 3 weeks flower.
i was sick last week and let em go 7 days(i could just about pick up 2 pails with one hand) and the gallon hardly gave any run-off on some of em. i'll get back to the 4 or 5 day schedule now
i can't say i've ever noticed yellowing after a plain water tho. at least on the top of the plants. i'm on well water. fert every other feeding. promix flushes really easy too. mite be strain related tho. i've been growing this strain for so long now i kinda ferget any others. lol.
I spent half the day transplanting pretty big plants from the classic 600 2 gal to classic 1200 3 gal, when the soil Dries I hit them with a good dose of tiger bloom and take clones, then into the flower room.A couple years ago I would have scoffed at trasplanting from the 2 to 3 gal.,even when done right your getting maybe 25% more soil.Thats all you need I've found.I just transplanted today, veg about 3 or 4 more days take clones and into the flower room.Am I repeating myself lol.
i do 16 oz cups or 6"x9" pots to 2 gallon and then i go str8 to a 5 gallon pot, with no problems at all! I use alott of perlite and in present case alott of peat so tis a light mix and water drains very easily. I get about 15 % run off with 3/4's of a gallon of either nute mix or str8 water, i wind up feeding every 3.5 days
