Flowering times way off????

I got some seeds from a breeder and I was told they were Kush x Black Domina. Both of those strains have flowering times of 60 days or less, closer to 50. My girl takes 70-75 days to finish... What gives?
I trust they are what I was told since they came from Gypsy, but I just don't understand the flowering time. Other than that she is an amazing plant. Lots of bud with this great sour citrus taste, and bright orange hairs everywhere.

I find that my clones finish faster than my seeds. Also i find huge plants/clones/seeds take a little longer than smaller ones of the same genetic materal. Flowering longer IMO is often worth the wait as my fastest finishers are not my largest yeilders.
Hope i did not butt in.
Just my 2 cents.

Ether Eye - I'm not sure who the breeder was. The seeds came as a freebie from a Gypsy order, that I split with a buddy. How long does your Black Kush take to finish?

KALISTROYER - This is a clone that I've had around for a while. It is a slower finisher than most everything in the garden, but its my biggest yielder per plant and it really is just primo smoke. The original seed plant has grown the biggest buds so far, but this one looks like it might take the title :)

I got some of those same freebies about 8 months ago. It was the plural of kush black domina x hindu kush. The first five I germed produced two females that were extremely resinous and the buds were solid purple by week four by week five both females had done a complete sex reversal and I had to kill them they were the most purple for a plant this resinous I'd ever seen indoors or out and these were in. They got a little stress when my ac crapped out and it got up to 85 during the light cycle for 5 days but nothing else in the same crop sprouted even one anther. It broke my heart I had to kill them at week 5. I just germed the last 5. Only 3 sprouted this time but I'm doing them outside in bags this time so if the have sex reversal I still might be able to do something with them. Do yours turn purple?

Its also worth noting that gypsy later pulled the plural of kush line both for sale and as freebies because of porr germ rates hermaphrodites showing up in the test grows. They were field grown and open pollinated in switzerland I do believe.

Alot of times the flowering time given doesn't exactly match up to reality IMO. I think that most people are looking for strains that mature in the least possible time so estimated flowering times are under-exagerated. It seems most strains that I have grown take a week or so more than the breeder's description. Ain't no thang though, breeder's description is just a loose guide anyhoo, the plant will tell you when she is ready.

I think that flowering times depends also on the plants environment. How much light she is getting, intensity of light etc? Inide, or outside?

I also think its an exageration on what is expected. Just let the plant show you when shes ready.

If you've already grown them, what are they like? Sounds like great cross..

a lot of seed sellers quote number of days past showing. (although this isnt stated its implied) Normally it takes about 2 weeks for the plant to flower...so just add 14 days to the number quoted. Which i think u said they said 60 days and u harvested in 70-75 days which is about right if you figure in a week and a half to two weeks for the flowering to begin. Only autoflower species have deadon day numbers. Also a lot of breeders use CO2 and advanced hydro / light setups so they may be able to shave a few days off their grow time. As you dial in your strain the number of days will become known since you will know how the plant will respond to your environment.

zamalito - I'm pretty sure we have the same seeds. Mine are the POK Kush x Black Domina, you added an extra kush in your cross list, which would be that crossed back to a Kush (Mine are a couple years old?). My freebie pack only came with 8 seeds. I split those with a buddy. He sprouted two of his and one germed and went male, he should have two more somewhere... I popped all 4 of mine at the same time. 3 of 4 germed, one was a mutant that just really didn't grow, one female, and one male. My girl looks like some kind of sativa compared to mostly Indica as the parents would suggest.
I don't get any purple in mine. Lime green buds absolutely covered with hairs. She is prone to going a little hermie. Never full blown sex change or even mature pollen sacks, just a banana here and there. Making 5-10 seeds in the whole crop, which isn't something to really worry about IMO.

Everything else I have grown has fallen within the breeders advertised harvest time. This one just keeps going and going. This will be my at least my 4th grow of this clone, she takes a little longer than the rest, but its worth it.

Using 400w HPS and all organic everything else. The pics are from this morning, 41 days of flower. Still probably 3-4 weeks to go. The finished buds are from the original seed plant (I think). For sure the same strain, just not sure which harvest...

Whoami is right. Mine used to take longer until I upped the wattage and got co2. Now the times are pretty close.

I should've been more clear. When refering to the brand name I spelled out plural of kush instead of POK so it looked like I wrote kush black domina x hindu kush but I meant Plural of Kush (pok) as the brand name abd black d x hindu kush as the strain.

Also it's worth noting that my experience with black domina and it's crosses one cutting can display many very different phenos with vastly different flavors bud structure resin content calyx size leaf width and flowering times when grown outside inside under different light intesities, as smal plants or large multi branched plants etc. You'd be amazed at how different I've gotten the same cutting to show very different traits.
