Flowering Question

I just have a quick q?
I have started flowering now a couple days ago, and wanted to know if a very brief glimpse of light during the dark cycle hurts? Like to go in and check my temp and RH. There is definately no direct light on the plants when I do. Just wondering. I have my light cycle going from 6 pm on till 6 am off. Thanks alot for input on this and your:2cents: Maybe even just a light from flashlight to check? Thanx

No, BRIEF light will not disturb your plants. Think of moon-bright nights outdoors or plants near streetlights, they all flower fine. As an alternative, try this....install a few green-glass bulbs, this is a cool idea I picked up while hanging out at the local Agricultural University Extension Service. They use them to work in the greenhouses during the dark period. Plants can’t utilize true green light in the photosynthesis process, and as a result it won’t disrupt their dark cycle. My job requires me to travel quite a bit and I never know exactly when I’ll be available to tend my garden. The use of green light has given me 24-hour access even during flowering. If you choose to use this technique be sure to get green-glass bulbs not just bulbs with a green coating on them

I think Pipedream is right about the green light thing. They are called nursery safety lights.

let me tell you form experience...id avoid any light..even "brief" or "indirect"....my wife turned on a light around the corner but it still shined in the room...and i have a fridge in there with a light too...NEITHER got any direct light to the plant but it still hermied a bit...only 1 or 2 seeds but still id be careful....i try to have the "off" time when im sleeping...it may help you next time that way you can still check them and all...

Well Unicorn I actually thought about getting the $27 dollar remote sensor weatherstation from walmart, the one that reads the RH and temp and whatever else. So that might be something i am gonna do. Thanx for the links. :joint:

Get that remote weatherstation from WM...I've got one with 3 remote sensors and it works great...plus it serves as a calendar, clock & shows the moon phase :D

The local WM had extra sensors for sale at the time...but I haven't seen them there since then. You can order them online from several places tho...usually around $15 each tho.

The manufacturer's site is www.chaneyinstruments.com for the acu-rite weather stations...so you might be able to snag a couple from them cheaper - or maybe ebay?
