flowering early?

so I have three Easy Ryders going, all but one were pretty slow growing to start with, and, one is still only on its 3rd leaf set, the other two though are on their fourth, ER#1 is 3-1/2 inches tall and is showing small hairs at the fourth node, as is #2 but this one is 5'' tall, how much stretch can I expect from this point in as flowering will surely be underway soon, they are in 3gal pots in Coco and id like to pull atleast an Oz off of each, is this possible? I'm flirting with the idea of starting some reg. seeds just incase im disappointed.

edit; thought I should mention they are under a 400W HPS, roughly 17'' from the plants.

Sorry man wish I could help you but i haven't grown this one out yet. But you should expect to see some more as I guess they are just starting to show sex ?

There are what they call micro pheno's out there to be seen and if you look around here I think there is a thread about them.

But otherwise stop talking like that, starting some 12/12's fffffffth........keep that attitude positive.

I haven't grown easyryder yet either, though I have seen several grows on here and I wouldn't expect an oz each, maybe 20g's. The fact that you are using coco in 3gal pots with a 400w gives you a good chance of getting a nice yield, so it is possible, I just don't know how likely it would be as I've never grown this particular strain. Your setup sounds great, so I think it is going to come down to genetics more than environment.

the replies are appreciated guys, yes they are just starting to show sex, it is very early, the hairs only showed like 2 days ago, ill be sure to look up on this micro-pheno, haha I know I should be keeping positive, good vibes = good times.

on the Oz per plant, I've seen it done, anything over 20g would sit well with me though, it's my first grow in what feels like a long ass time so overall im just looking forward to smoking more that I've grown myself, after reading around im sure they'll do fine.

I've seen ~oz done with this strain too, though I like to put my expected yield lower than the average. If they do end up being a micro pheno then I wouldn't expect any where near that much. Still I'm confident that under your conditions you will have satisfactory results.

I personally have a micro pheno of lemon skunk and this girl is literally 3" tall at day 49


I found that my autos stretched when i turned their lighting down to 20/4 instead of 24/0 but im using CMH which has quite a bit of blue spectrum and UV which keeps the internodal length shorter than a pure red spectrum (HPS)

ouch! guess it does just come down to phenos with these autoflowering strain's, I've been growing 20/4.

A few months ago I tried a feminized autoflowerer just for kicks. I grew one lowryder #2 next to my regular plants. It spent its life right next to a purple urkle clone I got from a dispensary, both in roots organics soil in 4.5 gallon containers under a 1000W HPS with several other plants. The plants stayed on 24/0 untill the LR showed sex at day 13 from sprout, then they were switched to 12/12 for the duration. I gave each plant as much soul synthetic nutrient as they could take without severe burn(Urkle ate a lot more).

The LR#2 finished on day 51 of 12/12(day 64 of its lifetime). The Urkle finished at day 56 of 12/12(day 69 of its lifetime). The LowRyder strain yielded a whopping 19g. The Urkle yielded 2.5 ounces. Quality-wise the urkle was far superior medicine.

My test wasn't a totally scientific one, but for me autoflowering strains are a waste of time.

Its experiences like that that make me very sad, when someone is put off AF's from a single bad result. There is no doubt the urkle would be better smoke and yield more then LR#2, though anything will out preform LR#2 in that respect. Secondly, AF's do terribly under 12/12, they grow slower and yield less. Though, the biggest mistake that one can make in the AF department is to only grow one. AF's strengths are in numbers (and speed), you could easily fit twice the amount of AF's in the area you would use for a 12/12 strain and finish it in ~half the time, and with the newer genetics have potency on par with any normal strain.
